Nationals and pro shows...

Is it just me, or are these some huge shows (nationals, USA's, NY pro, Olympia... etc) where a lot of money is spent on almost everything EXCEPT FOR THE LIGHTING!!!

I hear a lot of guys saying "oh, the bodybuilders in the 90's had a much better look ... etc" ... yeah, it's because in all the old shows i've seen, the lighting was overhead, and with strong "florescent" like lights... not these bullshit orange lights that are BEHIND THE COMPETITORS!!! even if you had overhead lights, these crappy orange lights in the back would ruin everything!!!

don't they hire any lighting guys who are the least bit professional and experienced?

hell, the guy who does the lighting for our corporate presentations does a much better job than these idiots!!!

this Cedric dude (i don't know if i got the name right) looked fucking amazing!!! with good lighting, he'd look unreal and even better than the guys "back in the day"

we all know how shelby looks like in decent lighting... fucking awesome!! but in the weigh-ins, the lights there washed off everything he worked for! i haven't seen stage pics of him yet, but i'm sure they will not reflect the reality of what he really looked like.

I'll go check the rest now and have a look. I know lighting makes a tremendous difference though.

A comment on the Iron Man by shawn ray was that less the 200 tickets were sold for the night show last year. If this is indicative of the size of the turnout other than the Arnold and the Olympia it's a surprise there are lights at all.

orange light: glute striations = cellulitic ass = will just appear as one big lump.
