Went to send 230 in bitcoin today on Coinbase this evening nOn peak times! (Central time) They wanted 38 and some change in Network fees, use to be like 9$! This is happening a lot lately. WTF is up with these insane network fees. Not even worth using.

It seems like the faster you want to send it, the more they charge in fees.

I got hit the same a couple weeks ago. Then another almost $40 to send from Coinami. So like $80to send $250

I have a bunch of BTC on hand so I didn’t have to buy any and pay that additional fee.

So do you send direct from coinbase to whoever you’re sending it to?
I buy on coinbase send to an external wallet then on from there, so there’s 2 transfer fees, one from coinbase one from coinami.

The cost of bitcoin wasn’t bad it was the network fee to send it that was outrageous!

thank to the developing and incredible use of bitcoin "ordinals" since may 2023, a transaction fees for btc has been increasing on a monthly basis.

this month alone btc transactions fees minimum were at $24 USD.

its does not matter if you send, thru robinhood, binance, kraken or any exchange you use, until "degens" stop gambling on memecoin running thru bitcoin network (ordinals) the fees will keep getting higher and higher.

i know about this because I have a lot of friend that are very active in the nft/ memecoins trading community
