When you hook up a digital camera to your pc and plug in the usb cord. The images pop up on the screen. You simply pic the one you want (without saving it) and send it to whoever you want. This I know.

My question is when you send someone a pic, does the PC ever keep a image of the pic you sent? Or no, cause you never saved it to begin with?

I know if you send it persae from Yahoo or where ever, most of the time your home pc will keep a copy of the sent email in the "outlook sent" folder. If you uncheck that box so nothing is sent to it, is there anywhere else to check? ( I have a person that sends me pics and info from time to time and doesn't want to get caught copy writing at home sending them)

Thanks folks.

Well, yes, and yes. This depends on the driver that the camera is running. If it ties it into normal Windows picture framework (default) then there's one way it could be stored if using Outlook/Oulook Express. Most of the time it will not keep a copy, but every once in a while it does. If it has it's own camera software like the absolute cumbersome junk that Kodak ships with their camera, then it could be temped (saved as a temp file) in a number of places that is third party software dependent. As for the Windows way, you would need to open Windows Explorer. Make sure you have 2 panes, a right and left. If you open My Computer, by default it does not have this. To get the folder pane click "Folders" at the top which is next to the "Search" button. You then will ned to show all files. To do this, from the tool bar at the top go to "Tools\Folder Options" Then click the "View" tab. Scroll down and turn on "Show hidden files and folders", then scroll down further and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". It will then warn you, click "Yes" to that message also. Then click Apply. Do not exit out of that page. Click the button that says "Apply to All Folders", then "Yes" to the prompt.

Now, lol, once this is done you can see all files & folders on your hard drive. Close out of your windows and do a Start\Run then type the following and hit enter:

explorer /e,"%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files"

Migrate down the tree on your left hand pane by clicking the "+" sign if there is one. If you have a folder (not a file) under there beginning with "OL" it is your Outlook temp folder. This folder sometimes does not get emptied by clearing your internet cache.

Awesome bro than you! Glad to have you here and hope many others pick your brain as well!

No problem brutha.

Kaiser, I was doing great till i got to the run option I typed in:
explorer / e," % userprofile % \ localsettings \ temporary internet files "

and got a error, (no spaces, i just did this so you could tell me where I went wrong)

You can copy it right from this post, and just instert it in run. But your problem as I see it is you didn't put a space between local and settings.

Should be:

explorer /e,"%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files"

NOW YOU TELL ME? hahaha i thought it was always "no spaces" rule. lol

Thats why I used quotes.

Secret agent Boomshaker reporting on his mission quest, and happy to report there are no folders that begin with "OL" over and out! :D

Thanks a million!

Just remember because of how Windows hides these files they will only show up in the left hand pane most of the time.
