I don’t know if it’s protected by the constitution Mike but I saw some things go down along those same lines at an Ozzy concert once and it sure as hell wasn’t Santeria!

If it is in the U.S. it will violate most city health codes and laws. I knew someone who bought a goat at a local farm auction and brought it home alive and killed it at his house and violated these laws and health codes.

Yes, but the Constitution also states that every man has a right to the pursuit of happiness. I do believe screaming, dying goats, sicknesses caused by airborne pathogens, etc would interfere with a lot of peoples pursuit of happiness. Not to mention what if a young child loses his ball or something over the fence, climbs up and sees that?

I'm all for free religion, but some things are just too much.

No, but States and Local Municipalities CAN. It doesn't specifically state otherwise. So I guess this ritual may legally be performed on Federal land?

All freedoms come with responsibility. Once the exercise of your freedom begins to take away someone else's freedom a line is drawn.

In addition, freedom of religion has two aspects, freedom of belief and freedom of action. No one can ever tell you what to believe and what not to beleive. That is absolute.

However, religious ACTIVITES can sometimes be overriden by law if there is a good enough reason (such as the health and welfare of a community) and if the law is neutral. By neutral I mean that no one relgion is being favored or persecuted. The law must be equally applicable to all.

Here in the city where i live, they have 3 major live stock stores. You can find all kinds of live animals in them. Most are used for food and the rest are right out in the open used for animal sacrifices. I say to each is own. As long as you don't get any special treatment over me when it comes to taxes or extra land space I don't care what you do. The second they give you more then me just because of your religon NOW WE GOT A F-ING PROBLEM!
