OT: Shampoo to Fight Hair Loss

I currently take Propecia (and I'vebeen on it for years) but in the last few months I have noticed that the density and thickness of my frontal hairline has decreased dramatically. Would any of the over-the-counter anti hair loss shampoos help this? They are supposed to fight off DHT, but I don't know if they would work in the short amount of time that a shampoo actually is on the head!

Could someone with experience with the topical hair loss stuff please weigh in before I go freakin' bald!

Thanks bros...

I just started Propecia and also got a bottle of 1% Nizoral from CVS.

Give that a go. Nizoral 1% or 2%

I have prescription Nizoral. You might want to look into a product called folligen. It uses copper-pepitides, and used with minoxidil (rogain), it's seems like an interesting option. Look it up.

no

sorry, they don't work.
But i know there are several Chinese OTC gel or liquid stuff can help a lot. They were sold very quickly in Japan.

this is what works wonders for me. havnt lost any hair in 12 years.
nizoral 1% 1-2 times a day. just shampoo and leave in in while you wash then rinse.
also
1-2 times a week
in an empty water bottle mix
skinoren (azelaic acid) 3g
retin a (tretenoin) 3g *any strenth will work*
4 oz H2O
shake well, slowly pour over hair and scalp trying to keep as much in you can.
then just let your hair air dry
you can style now (fag lol)
worked for me. started shedding alot at 21-22, then i just sort of combined these two and it worked now 33 full and thick (man i just sounded like a
fag lol)

and that means........nothing.
Japanese are the worlds most uneducated consumers. they buy into the gimmiks easier than americans do.
12 years here in Japan, I know what I am talking about.

Actually in a head to head comparison, 2% Nizoral was as effective as 2% Minoxidil. Because they work through different mechanisms, they are synergistic together. I'll look for the study and post it.

Thanks - I would be very interested to see that. None the less, I will pick up both today. Is Nizoral OTC or do I need to go to the dermatologist?

Nizoral 1% is OTC and sold in Walmart. 2% is script. But you can purchase it through inhousepharmacy w/out the script. I don't believe any board sponsors sell it. 1% is still a decent product, though. I will find that article. It's somewhwere on a hairloss forum I go to occasionally.

If I'm not mistaken my grandparents used to make us sit under a horse while he pissed on our heads twice a day! Or did we sit under an elk?? Well never mind! :D :D

try **broken link removed** not a bad product.

i take proscar, procerin, use a scalp lazer....i feel you bro, i dont want to go bald either!! i might throw some of that 1% stuff you guys are talking about.

Avacor? How does it compare to the horse/elk piss?:D

Avacor doesn't draw flies like horse and elk piss does! BAHAHAHA

Avacor has been around for a little while now. They have gotten some good responses from treatments for men and women. However like everything else individual results may vary.

customers report good results with nizoral...

as for 1% nizoral being OTC and 2% not could one just take 2x the dose?...alex

Nothing is really going to make a difference. I have been to plastic surgeons/hair transplant surgeons etc half my life. It is all in genetics and AAS will accelerate that no question according to true experts. What is going to fall out will eventally fall out. the ONLY fix for this is hair transplantation. Anything else is a waste of time. Arnold had it and so did John Travolta. If you have the money , your hair can be transplanted to look BETTER than the original :)
