phoenix gyms? metroflex?

How can all you guys use LA Fitness and Lifetime and Planet fitness and all these other commercial places?? I had to use one out of desperation awhile back and I wanted to kill myself.

I am curious what your experience with Lifetime is? I have worked out at a lot of gyms on the east side and it is by far the best gym I have used on this side of town. There is plenty of equipment, plenty of space, and people let you be. Like any gym, nothing is perfect and there are a few things I would change but for the most part I have no problems. Also, despite it being commercial, the corporate office is actually accessible and listens/resolves issues when needed. Just to note, I don't have any business affilitation with Lifetime, so my opinion is based on my experience and not someone trying to sell you something.

I guess I am just spoiled with my gym. Thankfully it is close to me but I would drive at least 30 minutes to get there if I had to.

A quick search on google brings up 5 or 6 different gym choices in AZ that all look better than the corp chains.

I don't go to workout, I go to train. You are a product of your environment. My knock on lifetime is the same as the other gyms I mentioned. By and large, the people at these places are different than us, and to someone with serious goals, this is a problem.

You want to surround yourself with like minded people. If you want to become rich, don't hang with homeless folks. Same thing goes for training.

Thanks for all the help. Metroflex gym it is! Will probably hit it around ten so less traffic. I am sure my dad will enjoy the enviroment since he use to be a bb.

I understand what you are saying and agree with your philosophy. However, while Lifetime is definitely not hardcore, it is the gym of choice of a decent number of local competitors(some who are either working with or have worked with Dusty), as well as there is at least 1 IFBB pro fitness competitor. Any my knowledge of people there is only a small 2 hour window so I am sure there are others I don't know about at other times. With that said, I do agree, if time and convenience was not an issue, Metroflex would be my choice.
