Plan on competing at USA's or North American's ---CHRIS250

Hey Guys,

I plan on getting back on stage after a 2 year absence from the stage...Im planning on the USA's or North American's, I just got back into hard training the last few months, and I have stepped it up after the first of the year...

As many of you know I was getting ready for the North American's back in 2004, but due to my divorce and being laidoff from my job, it has taken me all of 2005 to get my financial situation right, and the correct mindset back again...I have current been called back to my original job at General Electric...

In these pics, im 5 weeks out and about 236, I was going threw alot at this point in my life and everything was crazy when I was trying to get ready for this show...These where the last set of pics I took for that show...I dropped out of the show at about 4 weeks out, because I had to move out of my house and find a place to live...

Currently, im 270 and starting to look pretty good again...I think I have all my size back and Im starting to make improvments to my chest and back thickness...I will post some recent pics in the next few weeks...

Let me know what improvments, you think I need to make to compete on the national level....

Everyone opinions would be appreciated....

Here is a few more pics...I also, want to mention that Im working with DC on my training again...We have added a few new movements to help bring up my chest and back thickness, im also triying to thicken up my abdominals with doing heavy ab movements...

Also, im not sure if im going to work with a nutritionist or do my diet on my own...if you guys have any suggestions please let me know...

Chris, you look great and certainly you have big things for you in the future.

Your limbs are great (arms, legs).

As you said it yourself and you know it, you need to get the torso bigger - chest and back. Although you are too old to stretch the ribcage, you can still stretch the scapulaes. Do that as well as building more thickness to the chest/back.

I am not so sure about making the abs thicker. I was never a fan of increasing waist size.

You know what you are doing and you are on the right path.
 
Hi Chris, you have a good symmetrical physique. Awesome calves too btw. :)
I would suggest maybe you could work some more on your lower lats, and overall back thickness.
Don't worry too much about abs, the heavier you lift the thicker they get, and then the definition comes out with competition prep. If you try to thicken (deepen?) you might end up with just increasing your overall waist size - depending on genetics.

Chris, forgive me for not catching those rear shots.

Where I would suggest you attempt to bring yourself up is lower
back, surely lots of cable pullbacks will do that and put two big
pancakes as I call them opposite each other with a nice ridge in between.

Upfront, not much I can argue with other than maybe a little more
quad sweep.

Assessment

Hey Chris,

I don't want to repeat much from the other Judges, but I would like to make the following assessment from your pics.

First, GREAT LEGS!! Obviously, that is your strongest part!
You really need to get those lats BOTH THICK AND WIDE. In my opinion as a Judge, that is your biggest weakness. Next is the Chest thickness (usually this is the easiest part to build up). The upper and lower chest needs more thickness. Arms are in good balance. Just keep them that way. Of course, as always, more size doesn't hurt, just keep them balanced.....

Would like to add......you have the potential to do well in National Shows......

First off I want to thank everyone for taking a look at my pics and giving me an honest assessment...

It's what I needed to hear, and I agree with everyone that my chest and back, need to come up and match with the rest of my body...

Im working with Dante, with my offseason training, and we are coming up with a game plan to bring up my weak points...Troponin and I are teaming up in the precontest phase to make a run at the North Americans...I think with both of them backing me up, I will have a good showing at the NAC's...
