Well I heard the first radio ad for a Planet Muscle in my area this morning, and I quote... "At Planet Muscle, we don't cater to the bodybuilder / powerlifter type. In fact, 80% of our members our first time gym goers".

This just pissed me off so bad. It seems that our type becomes more of a minority everyday.

its because of a lot of reasons. complete bullshit though--but the newbies usually quit after a few months of not seeing immdaite results making less wear on the equipment and less need for heavy equipment, turns the gym into more of a socaializing event rather getting in shape, and allows them to use gimmicks like fat boy/girl programs to attract the horribly obese to give them something easy to do to make them feel like they're losing weight and going to be skinny real quick without hard work and sweat. bb'ers and powerlifters make the need for more equipment and tend to "intimidate" these poor people so they do not cater to either. therefore it is basically discrimination and it would be funny if there were a class action lawsuit against gyms like this. next thing you'll see is racially discriminating gyms or maybe they will bar all guys(oops been done already from cory e's and curves). sucks don't it? bastards

These businesses love to sign up tons of people and then pray they don't show up. The money comes in but they don't. BB's and powerlifters are going to be there like clockwork + they scare off the average joe. They can keep their Planet of Pussies

I believe these fitness centers know that they need body builder/powerlfiter business, but they have to cater to a mass market at that market is mostly newbs who lift the first two months of the new year.

What I really think is going to bite them in the ass is that most of these places are starting to offer month to month memberships and I think that will hurt them in the long run

Well the gym I work out at is a Nautilus facility, but it's the oldest gym in town. And the owner is an old school bodybuilder, and promotes natural shows in the area.

So he kind of gives us our own room in the back.

A Room in the back, with NO AC, NO windows, pics of the all the great BBers, the air is filled with TEST/Sweat....? A real hardcore gym still exist somewhere? Great!

Between all the powder/aas busts and Plantet Fitnesses replacing World's gyms and popping up everywhere, it seems like they are trying to make us extinct.
