question about carb digestion speed

So I am revisiting a belief I have held for awhile due to reading tons of conflicting things. So I always thought that if you combined a carb, even say a sugar, with protein and fats that its digestions or insulin spiking effects would be slowed down. For example: a shake consisting of 12oz pineapple juice, 2 scoops of protein, and a tablespoon of EVOO or whatever fat. Is that shake BAD because of all the sugars in the pineapple juice? or is it OK considering it is combined with healthy fats and protein?
 
No such thing as bad. It’s all about your goals and how it digests ;)

Right, poor choice of words I suppose. Would the sugars still digest quickly like sugars even if combined with fats and protein? Or would it slow it down to make that hypothetical shake an ok meal replacement shake?

Slow down for sure. John meadows talks about adding g peanut butter to his pre workout of cream of rice specifically to reduce the insulin spike
 
Isnt real pineapple juice fructose. Slower than sugar.?

As far as meadows, does he just spike his insulin during and post lifting.
 
Never eat Carbs by itself.

Every meal should be Protein-Carbs-Fat,mixed in.

Full fat Ground beef + Rice + Veggies

Whole milk + Whole eggs + Oats

always combine the 3.
