Rough week

As some of you already know this week has been one of the hardest of my life as my Dad took his own life on Monday. I hesitated to start this thread because I am not asking for prayers or help from anyone but rather want to remind people to never take for granted the time that they have with loved ones. My Father and I weren't the closest but I have a ton of respect for all that he has accomplished while he was on this earth and I was given his drive to succeed in everything I do. He was a good man who lived a tough life and will be missed.

Please take the time today to tell your loved ones what they mean to you and enjoy the time you have with them because you never know when they may be gone.

I feel so sorry for your loss.......please be strong. I just lost my child hood friend yesterday in Minneapolis......she fell through the ice chasing after her dog.

Dusty, I'm sorry for your loss. My thoughts will be with you and your family today. Your words of advice are right on. For some reason, I've been contemplating those same thoughts you expressed off and on for the last few weeks.. This trajedy truly brings it home. Thank you for your strength to share.

My uncle took his life 6 years ago and it's an especially hard way to lose a loved one.

although we do not know each other personally, i have admired you for both your physique and intelligent posts since joining this board.

when something horrible like this happens i often step back and look at the things i am placing importance on in my life. its humiliating that i get so upset over things that are nothing compared to the more serious issues in life, such as the one at hand.

i will definitely pray for you and your family.

i am a funeral director and deal with death all the time and it is never easy. I am so sorry for your loss and know that your family and friends are there for you to talk with, rely on them to get thru this difficult time. I agree 100% that never take for granite how much time you have on this earth or with someone, live everyday as it is your last and never goa away mad at someone because you will never know if you will get a chance to tell them sorry or that you love them. prayers are with you and your family.
