Sugar as a Transporter...?

I've heard over the years that Sugar (i guess that's any type of Glucose) should be used as a ingredient to help nutrient absorption (when used in conjunction with food, protein powders, other nutrients, etc).

Upon doing a Google search...i found very little info....only gov docs. which i trust about as far as i can burn them.

Anyone have any articles on sugar and absorption?

If you have any "constructive" input on this subject, i would appreciate it.

Sucrose (table sugar) - if I am recalling correctly - is a 50-50 mixture of glucose and fructose. The glycemic index is about 64-65.
Elevated blood glucose initiates an insulin spike that drives nutrients into your cells. The problem with sucrose is that the fructose component is implicated in metabolic syndrome (insulin resistance) and depressed CNS function, systemic inflammation, etc.
If it were me, I'd use Dextrose (aka commercial grade glucose) glycemic index of 100. Or Waxy Maize with a glycemic index of 110 +\-
You only need 25 grams or so to have this effect.
Also - don't forget that there are calorie-free nutritional insulin mimetics that do the same thing - possibly even better.

So you are saying there is a problem using sugar as a nutritional transporter.

Pure Dextrose is better.or Waxy Maize. I think i've seen Waxy at the health food stores.

Insuline mimetics....i will have to look at that too...

IMHO this supplement industry driven. Dont over think it just put in the work and the nutrition. Just eat enough calories for growth.
