should i not even try yet til i bring my legs up...i know they will grow quite a bit more.... ive only got a good 8months into them since starting training them after a shattered pelvis and hip socket.

second question...how many weeks would i approx need at this point to come in good shape with a slow cut....just a ballpark as i know there are many many factors...def wanna just do this one on my own with a buddy who is doing his first show and if i like it then will get more serious and hire help!;)

As far as I can see, You are ready for your prep! I think with the right prep coach, you will do good in a novice show. I prefer a longer prep, like 16, so I don't have to starve myself. You have a good physique, time to show it off!

id say go for it. you have a strong base. got any back shots? whats height and wieght?

thanks bro..i think the show i was thinking about is about 19 weeks away so quite a bit time...figured with a longer prep i may even be able to bring legs up same time cause they not near plateau..or at least keep same size on them and cut up?

619: i will post up later when someone can take for me...im 5 9' just under 210 somewhere

Brutally High Volume with exercises focusing on Quads, Hamstrings, and calves, seperately while you contest prep will give your legs a much better shape. This will be mission accomplished, don't worry about bringing them up or making them bigger, give them detail that will create the illusion that you will need.

If you have 19 weeks then take every minute of it. It might only take you 12 or 10 but better to be safe then sorry. Slow and steady wins the race (a few of us wear this one out me included but the tortoise wins the race over the Hare)

On another note your abdominals have excellent structure, If you can get really lean I think they will turn out exceptional and really be the center point of your whole physique.

thanks michael, tenny, chris...
aeliop.thanks bro .i think that is what i needed to hear that if i hit em hard at those angles during prep that i could get the definition to compensate....i think i most def gonna go for it...hope it goes well, i def would like to see what i could do with proper guidance too...i see some of these recent preps you guys posting and quite amazing....i mean look at lenny 5 weeks out...ive seen plenty of dudes on stage not near where he is 5 weeks out:eek:

Sheesh, man!

Great physique!

You shattered your pelvis and hips socket?! That must have been brutal to rehab! I am impressed that you are doing so well. Awesome.

thanks JT...yeah i met a I-beam metal guard rail on the parkway sideways at about 60mph...it was a couple years ago but i only stuck to upper body til i was comfortable to really push it on the legs before really going for growth on them. the operation and just staying off of it while healing was the worst part...the rehab wasnt too bad actually...i guess since it your legs which you use a lot in daily life they rehab pretty quick as long as the repair was done right! have a metal band with about 5 long screws across the pelvis and some little screws through the socket that held it while healing up...have a pretty awesome xray picture somewhere i will post up...cool to see

edit: added pic

You already look AWESOME, jal! Your shape is just perfect for BB! :)

IMO, if you diet down smart it won't take you too long to come in shredded, at least from the front.

Go for it without a single hesitation! ;)

thanks brother...really really appreciate all the kind word and advice...i def attribute the extra steps i made this past year to a lot of advice from guys like you on here

put it this way

if you come in shredded....and i know you will, most of your competition will be wondering who will take 2nd place!! I highly, highly recommend you hire one of the guys on this board who specialize on getting you dialed in....they are all great and it will be tough to choose.

I just have to echo what everyone else is saying, DO IT! :D

We all have things that need "brought up" but from what I can see you are more than ready....especially with 19 weeks to go.

GO FOR IT!

That x-ray is wicked.

Thanks for sharing that.....much respect to you for getting after it in spite of that. I tore a bicep and had it repared and I thought my little world was going to come to an end! lol.

thanks guys and girl:)...i may just go with hiring someone and see how i progress...and if job/time situation lets me progress i will enter

Good luck as the old saying goes how bad do you want it!

You look good bro, that's some serious hardware you have in your pelvis! The legs do rehab amazingly well if you do it right, I got shot with a 12 gauge in the thigh and was in the gym within 6 months. I was weak as all hell, but could jog and lift. Good luck
