Interesting thread. I'm a poor man myself taking home around 38k/year or so. One bachelors degree in communications, two NCPT certs, and yet with that bartending made me the most money at about 50k take home. The certs paid for themselves at least. My parents paid for community college and I paid my own way Jr and Sr year and have yet for that investment to pay even a $1 dividend. I attempted to go back to school for nursing but hated it. A lot of corruption at the students' expense. I wasted a lot of years with no direction. I'm currently in the process of getting my NLMS license and hope to be at six figures in three years. Will be working with and learning from friends of mine who have been killing it for a lot of years. One day I would like to start a business on the side. Preferably interner based as here in NJ the government all but suffocates small business owners while mugging them at the same time.
I find it ironic so many are quick to crow about their six figures plus, but very few mention what they do.
