For me, waking up earlier created 1-2 hours of extremely quality time to dedicate to my personal business. Working with a clear mind, no phones, no emails.

Defining philosophy, vision and mision statements for myself and my team. Philosophy is expressed in a single sentence starting with "We..."

The vision and mission statements are 3-4 sentences written in the 3rd person.

My team deals with plenty of colleagues that are idiots and/or dishonest. My team has earned everyone's respect over the last 10 years. We know who we are, why we do what we do, and how our work and work ethic relate directly to customer experience.
