new to Metformin

So i just got metformin, 500 mg. twice a day. I know it takes a bit to build up in the liver...so what are some of the benefits of taking it. I'm asking for personal experiences...i'm specifically taking it for my elevated A1C...but was curious about added benefits for muscle building properties.

Yep, that's why it's too bad 95% of metformin posts are related to bodybuilding and not longevity. It's like not using an AI because people are worried it'll hurt gains.

What's with all the metformin talk recently? It seems like it's just becoming super popular lately , heck even I didn't know about it till recently.

I haven't noticed anything in the way of muscle building, but I believe metformin has helped with recompositioning through partioning nutrients away from fat. It has also helped greatly with my sugar cravings.

Even if it has no effect on the physique I would still take it due to all the health benefits.

I would however caution that more is not better, especially in this regard

Undulating between metformin and something like an OTC GDA can be massively beneficial long term

Can someone, in basic terms, outline the differences between Metformin and Berberine?


Monitoring and controlling blood sugar levels and insulin sensitivity is very important, but we don't want to limit muscular gains either.

I had heard Metformin, and possibly Berberine too, were bad for inhibiting muscle gains.... but I'd like some clarification.
