Macbooks worth the price?

I have an iPad and love everything it does. I literally use it everyday, and it's still keeping up.

I love all MAC/Apple products.

Im an engineer, and I deviated from the norm and bought a Mac. Hate it. Hate the OS. Track pad and high-rez screen is kick ass though.

I love my Macbook Air, fast, light and no popups........$$$$ well spent

I switched to a macbook pro 15' and can honestly say it awesome, i never thought computers could do so much....

Mac is the way to go. As mentioned if a windows app is needed then run windows in a Virtual Machine. VirtualBox by Sun is free. OSX is based on BSD which is a stable operating system. Seldom do I reboot my Mac. (Months between a reboot) Can run native OS X and virtual Linux and Windows at the same time. Not to mention BSD\Linux is a bit-heads dream. =)

Used Mac since College and that was in the late 80's. They old ones are just as great as the new ones. Running on a 1999 Pismo Firewire 500mhz PowerPC G3 with a Gig ram OS10.4.11. Love it

BTW, Ive got a PC, a Samsung Galaxy Tab, and an Iphone. I buy what I feel is the best at the time and am not biased.

You can get A LOT more pc for the money.

have not found a PC that can handle Photshop, Corel and CAD/CAM software as well as a MAC. Not for the price. my 3.2 quad win7ult, 8gb RAM is wicked fast, but still a mac with less power handles these rendering programs faster.

I've owned many PC's. Usually build them myself. I had a macbook pro for 3 years. While the MBP did me right for a good long time there's just no way to justify the price/performance ratio on a mac when you can find such a better deal on a PC. Especially when you're a gamer.

i had to choose between an Apple computer desktop and a sony vaio desktop with touch screen...hard choice but I decided to stay with a PC over an Apple becuase i know I can, as a computer technician, repair any issues with it....I know nothing about Apple/Mac products.

Absolutely not. You are overpaying for the name, the image, and the OS. Spec for spec, you can buy a PC for cheaper. If you are balls wild for the OSX, you can easily theme any number of Linux-based distros to be just like the OSX platform. The stability you get from OSX is because it's a unix-based platform.... linux is unix and free.

Who would want to be caught dead at Starbucks with anything other than a Macbook?! I have one and love it but I'm not sure its worthe the money unless you're a designer or artist and using it for that purpose.

It's like a requirement to have a glowing apple logo on your laptop while drinking your caramel latte venti. :naughty:

Every fucking penny brother!
Been a mac user since 2002 AFTER 9 PCs and 2 with linux on them so trust me I've been through all the ups and downs in PCs. I'll never go back from mac again. Easier to use, unsurpassed quality of construction and a pleasure to work on... Invest the 1000$ and you can thank me later ;-)

Alan I repaired EVERY mac on my own since 2001 and I'm not a technician FAR FROM IT actually... Imagine you who have a better perception on technical stuff... Go to ifixit.com and you'll find a repair guide on everything Apple... Learn how to repair macs, more business for you brother :)

Macbooks are amazing. I have a macbook pro and its such a better device and has better software, faster and waaaaay more reliable
