We'll never know.
Generally AAS users all stay on too long/cycle too much, and don't take enough time off to really let their HPTA recover. I'd bet that if a guy did two cycles in his life, and never touched it again.... he'd be at pre cycle test levels eventually.
Most guys that say AAS killed their test production have been on so damn long, who's to say it wasn't just old age taking its toll? If you've been cycling since age 30, stop at 40, and get checked after 6 months of being off, of course test levels are going to be way lower than before you started using AAS.
Also, I don't know what this is all about, but in my personal experience, it seems that bodybuilders freak out about this stuff way more than powerlifters. I wonder if it's the stress that is killing natural test, haha. So many powerlifters stay on huge doses for so long, then stop and have no issues. I don't know why I see so many BB'ers with HPTA problems.
