Hard to say.. I've always gotten pretty heavy in the offseason, and I've always made decent gains. I'm probably going to be staying leaner in the future though.
 
Shelby, obviously you made adjustments to your eating, but what specifically? I know you were eating higher protein, higher fat, moderate carbs...what did you adjust? I know you prolly plan on carb cycling in the beginning, then transitioning into low carb or keto eating for the final go around for this upcoming season..am I correct?

I cut all macros pretty significantly. Less meals, less protein, less carbs, less fat. What I'm doing now is about 275 protein per day, 100-150g carbs, and maybe 100g fat.

I'll probably stick with something similar to this and just gradually lower carbs (and increase cardio) as time goes on. I will have to refeed every so often too, based on progress of course.
 
Looking very good. Now if you can keep that upper body fullness while getting your lower half lean like you always do you will be in good shape for sure.
 
You've made some crazy improvements in the arms dept, tri's especially, Shelby! :eek: Did you change your training in that regard?!?!

I just do what John (Meadows) tells me in terms of training. Arm work this year has been a lot higher volume than in the past... seems to be paying off.
Every week is different, but volume and intensity are both high all the time.

Nice!!!

Shelby is a Great Example of how to do it right! I mean Training, Diet, etc. He is a Good Role Model for young & up and coming Bodybuilders. Heck even Lifters like me can learn from him. I don't agree with his Diet though, there is No Chinese Buffett or Fried Chicken in it...lol
