3 weeks in ...Did I just tear my pec?

Yes. That sound keeps replaying in my head. It's a nasty sound. makes me wonder if I'll ever be able to bench with intensity again thinking about it. Like strands of a rope breaking.
I tore my quad like that once doing squats, sounded like a t-shirt ripping. I never did get much bruising at all. I think I got a little bit the next day, but very minimal. I think in my case I tore mostly fascia and that's what the sound was. I do have a small divot there now though.My theory is that since I tore mostly fascia there wasn't any bleeding really. Connective tissue has a really poor blood supply. Heals really slow too because of that.

I hope you didn't tear things too badly. You definitely tore something. When you lost strength like that in the muscle, it was trying to protect itself from more damage. Something similar to the Golgi tendon reflex kicking in.
 
So I finally got results of my MRI and it's a partial pec tear. He said it's not to the point of surgery so he's suggesting PRP injections. Hopefully those work quick. I'm getting fat and weak.
 
No, PRP does not work quick. It takes months to heal if it heals back. Likely it will scare down. You will risk re-tearing the muscle.
