In need of a little advice. I was in an accident recently and tore both pectoral major tendons. My doctor said that it would be preferred to surgically repair both at once, but stated that he could repair one now and then the other 4 weeks later. If I went with the later option, there would be some risk that I would lose some functionality of the muscle, but he didn't think it was that likely. The problem is that if I have both done at the same time, I will not be able to do even the most basic functional tasks (e.g., going to the bathroom) on my own for a couple weeks, let alone work. I have always heard that it is important to have tendon tears repaired as soon as possible to avoid lose of functionality of the muscle. I am 53 years old and don't compete anymore, however, I still work very hard on my physique and it is important to me. If you were in my position, would you up to do both at the same time or do one then the other?
