Ok lemme see now, I think it was a little over a week ago and the beast was ready to chuck it in!! Well, have a look at you now lad! The midsection is almost devoid of any fat, the legs are starting to separate, back is getting detailed. So still wanna throw in the towel?? I told you to stop stressing and let your body do it's thing. So you look to be on target for this. You are looking good bro. keep to your plan. It is working. keep your protein high. You do not want to sacrifice any of that hard earned muscle. Good work and keep the update flowing.

Thanks for the replies bro's keeps me motivated and keeps me going. Odfella your right, i wanted to throw in the towel. But this last week or so has gone so good, i cant believe it, i just hope i can keep progressing becuase ill def come in condition, With spearing quite a lot of muscle mass. Theres a few things which ive learnt over this past few weeks, which i advise people to take into consideration when also looking to compete, i dnt think im a guru at competing or anything like that, i just think that some of these pointers which im about to say could be bennificial...O and just wana say again, Many thanks to oldfella for keepin me sain.!:D
1. Stick with your game plan, make goals from week to week and achieve them.
2. Keep calm and collective, the worst thing u can do, is switch things around before youve given them a chance ( something which i kept on doing before and got me no where ) !.
3. Do things little by little. When changing things slightly in your diet, do it little by little, so theres always room for more change. For example, if your looking to drop carbs each week, dont just go from 300g carbs one week, to 150g next week, becuase youll end up hitting a brick wall. When you need to shed that extra bit of fat, you might not be able to, as youve all the tricks up your sleeve. Thats why i think its important to always have a next stage to progress on to. Also adjust macro intake accordingly. If your dropping carbs, tweek fat/protien a little, thats also if your dropping weight to quick, eat more protien.
4. Give workouts 110%...When doing cardio or training, dont feel sorry for yourself. Give it a 110%...Some people say, when getting ready for a show, use 'light weight' quick reps etc...To be honest, i personally dont agree with this. You should always be training to the maxmimum heavy and intense every time you train. Thats how i feel any ways.
5. DIET....When things go good or bad, with progression. 90% of it is to do with diet. If your progressing week by week, then thats good. Work with your body, the worst thing to do, is to try and speed up a process which you cant really speed up any more. When i say this, i mean, on a weekly basis, if your dropping 2-3lbs on body wieght, and visually and statiscly are leaner, then keep going with what your doing. Dont change something becuase you think you can loose fat faster, save that thing you want to change when you really need to, that way you can maximise fat loss with each change when neccessary in your diet.
6. Keep educating yourself. Knowledge is power, the more you know the better. Find out things on nutrition and training, and work out what works best for your body. Some people diet down on a lot of carbs, so people diet down on no carbs, some people have high protien, some have no fat...It really depends on the individual.
7. Battle it out to the end. When putting yourself into compete, Its never going to feel mentally or physically easy. But how much do you want it? Every one is in it to win it. So remember, what your not doing, some one else is...Give maximum effort everyday.!
8. Enjoy yourself. Sport is about enjoyment, try to keep relaxed and enjoy what your doing.
9. Persistance, always be persistant . Some days i never feel like even getting out of bed, becuase i feel tired, but i do it, becuase i have to. If you really want to good and be the best you can Then you will make the effort.
10. Get ronnie coleman 'relentless' lol. Na only joking bout that bit, even though i love that dvd. IF you can go to bed each night, and honestly say, youve given it your all, the best you can. That should satisfy you the most, knowing your doing the best you can. Youve given 110%... If you do that, you wont regret nothing becuase youve done the most you can.

I hope this helps people. Im still young and still have a lot to learn about this sport, these are just a few pointers which i 'personally' think helps me keep on the right track.!

Beast: The last post should be a sticky. You've learned in a short period of time, what some guys never learn about getting ready for a show. Especially, #1-4. Speaking of.....could i have your permission to put it in my article?

BTW, you look great and ahead of the game. Dont push yourself too far and end up losing muscle. If you do this right, you will continue to grow into the show.

Obvourse you can bro!!! .... Thanks a lot for the posotive comments, youve helped me out quite a bit, especially with advice and putting your prep on the net, its helped me and probably others too. Who can make the last post a sticky???

Damn bro...NICE progress!! Excellent job!!!

AMAZING!! Incredible transformation. Best of luck.

your brother in Christ,

Lucky

thanks bros. Yh im just gunna keep dialing it in. Its a re-feed day tmmw, and believe me, ive earnt this one! lol.... Progression is the key. If youv'e read Gavin Kanes articles on hardcore bulking, he clearly states at the beggining, note down your goals, and what you want to achieve and log everything you do. This is what ive put into practice, even though im not bulking, the theory behind what he says is the same for leaning down. If you log what your doing, its easier to adjust and add things to your diet. He says this quote in his hardcore bulking, which is ...''Those who Fail to Plan, Plan to fail''....its 110% true...Planning is key!

VERY Nice!! Your abs are hot! :D

Good luck!!!

:) ... Thanx, hopefully ill keep up this progression, looks like im going to come in condition this year hopefully, becuase thats my main goal, conditioning.... Im weighing around 181lbs, i think on stage ill be around 170lbs....We'll see. My waist has dropped 1.5inches in the last 11 days, making it now 30inches, from 31.5...I started off with a massive 44inch waist! lol

30 inch waist... that's almost the same size as mine right now.

All your hard work is paying off.

30" waist:eek: That's one of my legs!!!!;) . Beast, welcome to the club bro. You have gained much knowledge now the hard part is to gain the patientce to go with the knowledge. You have listened to your body and to some of the bros here. You are on your way to the next step in becoming a Body Builder! You have the right mindset now. Do not let others around you steer you away from your path!! I said this to another member here I'll say it to you.......'OBSTACLES ARE ALL YOU SEE WHEN YOU LOSE SIGHT OF YOUR GOALS". I believe you will do well. i believe in you, now you believe in yourself bro. Look at my sig line. It says it all..........Like my reply to you at 10 weeks and freaking out............Keep these words. You are an inspiration to a lot of us. You have drive, determination and the will to succeed. it does not matter where you place on stage, but the fact that you got on stage and did it!! It's all you baby! Give it all you got always!!

thanks oldfella, youve really helped me keep my sanity even at the worst of times. My bro also competes, hes been doing competitions for 2 yrs now, and been pretty successfull. I think this will also be his year, hes really helped me prep all the way along aswell, but this board, has played a major part. Ive always thought my waist was big, coz my bro, waist comes in at comp around 27inches, every 1 says hes got 1 of the smallest waists theyve seen lol....Any how , thanks for the feedback , not only on this post but all of my contest prep so far, ill post some pics 7-8 wks out, should be noticeble difference. Progression is key, if i keep progressing i will compete. Only got around 10-15lbs to be absolutely shredded. If i ever need one inspiration though, when im tired or waiting to eat a meal..., i always switch on a 'ronnie' dvd, at this moment in time the dvd which im always watching is relentless, i love it. lol...:star-wars
