Thanks for the replies bro's keeps me motivated and keeps me going. Odfella your right, i wanted to throw in the towel. But this last week or so has gone so good, i cant believe it, i just hope i can keep progressing becuase ill def come in condition, With spearing quite a lot of muscle mass. Theres a few things which ive learnt over this past few weeks, which i advise people to take into consideration when also looking to compete, i dnt think im a guru at competing or anything like that, i just think that some of these pointers which im about to say could be bennificial...O and just wana say again, Many thanks to oldfella for keepin me sain.!
1. Stick with your game plan, make goals from week to week and achieve them.
2. Keep calm and collective, the worst thing u can do, is switch things around before youve given them a chance ( something which i kept on doing before and got me no where ) !.
3. Do things little by little. When changing things slightly in your diet, do it little by little, so theres always room for more change. For example, if your looking to drop carbs each week, dont just go from 300g carbs one week, to 150g next week, becuase youll end up hitting a brick wall. When you need to shed that extra bit of fat, you might not be able to, as youve all the tricks up your sleeve. Thats why i think its important to always have a next stage to progress on to. Also adjust macro intake accordingly. If your dropping carbs, tweek fat/protien a little, thats also if your dropping weight to quick, eat more protien.
4. Give workouts 110%...When doing cardio or training, dont feel sorry for yourself. Give it a 110%...Some people say, when getting ready for a show, use 'light weight' quick reps etc...To be honest, i personally dont agree with this. You should always be training to the maxmimum heavy and intense every time you train. Thats how i feel any ways.
5. DIET....When things go good or bad, with progression. 90% of it is to do with diet. If your progressing week by week, then thats good. Work with your body, the worst thing to do, is to try and speed up a process which you cant really speed up any more. When i say this, i mean, on a weekly basis, if your dropping 2-3lbs on body wieght, and visually and statiscly are leaner, then keep going with what your doing. Dont change something becuase you think you can loose fat faster, save that thing you want to change when you really need to, that way you can maximise fat loss with each change when neccessary in your diet.
6. Keep educating yourself. Knowledge is power, the more you know the better. Find out things on nutrition and training, and work out what works best for your body. Some people diet down on a lot of carbs, so people diet down on no carbs, some people have high protien, some have no fat...It really depends on the individual.
7. Battle it out to the end. When putting yourself into compete, Its never going to feel mentally or physically easy. But how much do you want it? Every one is in it to win it. So remember, what your not doing, some one else is...Give maximum effort everyday.!
8. Enjoy yourself. Sport is about enjoyment, try to keep relaxed and enjoy what your doing.
9. Persistance, always be persistant . Some days i never feel like even getting out of bed, becuase i feel tired, but i do it, becuase i have to. If you really want to good and be the best you can Then you will make the effort.
10. Get ronnie coleman 'relentless' lol. Na only joking bout that bit, even though i love that dvd. IF you can go to bed each night, and honestly say, youve given it your all, the best you can. That should satisfy you the most, knowing your doing the best you can. Youve given 110%... If you do that, you wont regret nothing becuase youve done the most you can.
I hope this helps people. Im still young and still have a lot to learn about this sport, these are just a few pointers which i 'personally' think helps me keep on the right track.!
