for 1 full rep that elbow has to be up waaaaay higher bro not to mention his back needs to be bent more parrale with bench.
 
I'm pretty sure the pic was taken mid-rep. He won the World Powerlifting Organization middleweight class in 2006 so I'm not going to argue with his form. Just thought it was a cool pic to share.

That IS a BAD ASS pic. I don't care where he is on the rep or if the form is perfect that is a grip of weight and you can feel the intensity just looking at the pic. Thanks for posting.
 
He just finished a training DVD that will be for sale soon. Should be pretty motivating stuff.

His form is fine, especially in the video. That's one hell of a grip that guy has. Vander is just incapable of handing out a compliment, and if he does it usually encapsulates a negative vibe. That's just him.
 
Hey !berserker, this is a little off topic, but do you know why he wears his squat suit so damn loose? I was a side spotter at the IPA pro/am and couldn't believe how big that damn thing was and he didn't even really use the straps on the suit either. It's was bunched up in the waist/hips like a 300lber could fit in there.

Anybody that trains back like that has my vote. Great shots. I love the vise-grips holding the plates on... now that's hardcore!

Same here, thats got to be the strongest grip I have seen anywhere. Sure he wouldnt have any problems doing that stunt where you crush an apple in your hand. A guy on J Leno did that the other night, I tried and couldnt come close.
