anyone use these on leg day??seems kinda girlish but have injuries and im always trying to find good ways to work around them.
 
I just started using the adductor on leg day to fill in my inner quads. I know Shelby is an advocate of these as well. My fiance lifts with me sometimes and laughs like hell at me when trying to get into or off the machine.
 
I do adductors... it seems a little gay at the time... but when I'm training and I've got some guy in my guard, is seems worth it.

Everyone is always labeling these machines as "Girl" machines, but my own opinion is that no machine has been created for a girl or guy, it's a machine for either or to use. The machines you're talking about Cooper, are the best machines to develop the inner, outer part of your legs, to include your glute muscles. I have gotten great results from them, and I can care less what anyone thinks at the gym while I'm using them. The gym is your time, and for your benefit, screw if they think you're a girl for using them.
 
thx for the replies guys.ive always made fun of dudes doing these but there might be some merit to them..as u get older u care less about what others think do what works.i'll give them a shot. hey shelby what order in ur leg routine do u place these?thx! also phil what r ur thoughts?
 
I used to think it was girlish too, but I still do them because I think its important to develope all parts of your legs..
 
my ass used to be an extension of my back with just a line in the middle :p

but after doing abductors for 3 years now, my wife has become jealous :D

never did adductors, but probably will start doing them soon.
 
I incorporate both movements into my leg training and I feel that my development, especially at the inner thigh, has come a long way this year because of it. I think I'm the only guy in my gym that actually uses the machine .
 
i starting doing these a few weeks ago, there is nothing you can do to focus on the inner part of your thigh like that..

Great reply. Hold the legs out, hold them in bent, hits those muscles in ways nothing else can. Load the stack and then throw on an 80lb dumbell, see who calls you a girl...
 
Adductors build the inner upper Quad. If you're looking to build that, the machine is there for that purpose.

Abductors essentially build the front and side heads of the Glutes. Again, if you're looking to build that area this is good machine for that purpose.
 
After this thread I decided to do some adduction on my quad emphasis day on wednesday. After squats, hacks, and leg press I threw these in a superset with extensions and wow. The strangest pump ive had in a while and I am still sore in my inner thighs 2 days later! Definitely going to utilize this movement more often.
 
If you really want a 3D look to your legs, you need to get as many leg muscles to grow as possible. I do adductors almost every leg workout and you can CLEARLY see the muscle it targets when I pose.

I'm not much into abducters though. If i want to work my butt, I do walking lunges.
 
It seems that every time I do adductors, my hip flexors cramp up big time. This may be b/c I'm 6'6 and don't fit the machine correctly.

Does anybody else have this problem?
 
Squats with bands will also work the abductors. I like those the best.....for abductors.
These are the kind of bands you can buy at walmart. They feel like balloon material. Tie each one in a loop, position them around your legs right above the knee joint.
