Advice for an NPC masters newbie please

I'm 48, and never done a show. I started lifting again after a long hiatus in Oct 09, with a goal of doing a show(red river classic) in Oct 2010. I'm currently 7 weeks out, 9%bf, 5'9" and 198.5lbs(down from 217lbs 9 weeks ago) and have been dieting for 8 weeks, with 7 to go.

My questions, as a newbie are many of course. I know I have weak areas, but since I've never dieted down before this is the first time I've ever seen a few of the weak areas.

I would like some basic feedback in the form of recommendations to do the show or not. I know I can get to 3% as fast as the weight has been falling off. Genetically I'm not gifted in the quad ham department, I kill them every way possible and in the end they are what they are.

Thanks ahead of time for any input.

With the pics you have posted, absolutely I would do the show. And no doubt you would place quite well!

Upper bod is outstanding and while yes your legs are not the best, particularly in the master's classes that is less of a downfall. Great quads/hams are a a rarity enough in the open classes no less in the master's classes so you should do quite well.

Go for it! You will be hooked and can look forward to many years to come of competing. And you will be a model example of getting better as you get older unlike most of your contemporaries who just keep looking lousier as they age.

Thanks much

Thanks for taking the time guys. With my motivation not necessarily up where it should be at this point, hearing that makes all the difference in the world.............the show will be done!

Thanks again
