ala vs r-ala whats the real diff?

i read a little on it but cant come to a good conclution. i was starting to take ala, but now im wondering if i should have bought r-ala? whats the diff and would you notice a diff betweent he 2. the ala i have is 300mg and the r-ala i can find is 100mg a pill. what brands do you guys take and how many a day?? thanks alot
 
Regular ALA (synthetic S-ALA) only contains about 50% R-ALA (naturally occurring) which is the superior of the two type. Finish what you have but stick to R-ALA. You will hear a lot of #'s on how much more effective it is, I have read from twice as much to 12x as much. Regardless I think its worth the extra $.

The equalancy is about the same imo from 300mg of ala to 100mg rala. I take gnc's 200mg ala 3-4 times a day before carb rich meals.

-Improves insulin sensitivity
-Antioxidant thats is supposely more powerful then vitc or vite
-Also helps your body recycle vitc and vite, so that it stay active longer in your system. (based off memory, don't count it against me).
 
I take R-ALA every day, because it is a great antioxidant.
 
in my very honest opinion

i could not feel the effects of ALA up to 200-500mg

however, 1x 100mg of R-ALA left me and my muscles feeling FULL

great pumps at the gym.

full use to all my nutrients WITHOUT STORING FAT (the fat that i was already eating my diet)

and noticing a much leaner and fuller/harder look


HOWEVER, the effects decline in about 2 weeks, most probably because you cannot increase your insulin sensitivity any furthur


i highly recommend R-ALA, AST makes a cheap effective 200 mg version

dont go for na-r-ala, only about 70% bioavailable and a version your body doesnt normally produce

I though Na-R-Ala was the preferred form-- more stable or what not?

Yeah most of the stuff I have seen says something like 117mg/cap but equals 100mg of Na-R-ala. not sure how the 70% fits in.
 
ala..give me burn in the stomach. have to take baking soda to buffer..rala is much better.
 
How many times a day do u guys take and at what dose thanks guys!!
