Clemens is getting murdered...he is even throwing his Wife under the bus saying she did hgh without him knowing...everyone elses story seems to match up except Clemens...He shoulda just walked away from this whole thing, cuz someone is going to jail after this whole thing and it looks like its gonna be him...McNamee seems like he is prepared to answer all the questions and Clemens seems unsure with a lot of pauses and "huh. huh"...

This whole thing proves that there are too many politicians in this country with nothing to do...Its too bad that so many peoples lives are going to be effected so a bunch of old farts can get some TV time...

It's a complete shame that the government is wasting taxpayer dollars on this nonsense. There are hundreds of pro athletes that use anabolics. Some see Roger Clemens as a "hero" to people, children, etc., so these individuals think that they are doing justice by prosecuting him. There are many pro players who have probably used lots more chemicals in the MLB, but we do not see them on the stand being prosecuted. It's almost as if the goverment is sending the message that using steroids is not noteworthy unless the person that is being called out is successful and has the potential for more influence over the general public.

Taking anabolics does not directly correlate into skilled physical ability. You either have a gift or you do not. There are many people that I know that use gear that can lift tremendous amounts, but when it comes to athletics these same people are better of cheering on the sidelines. The people involved in this congressional hearing need to do a lot more research before they decide to come after athletes (and waste money that could be allocated much more efficiently).

Apparently there was a hearing yesterday or the day before for the committee to learn about the myths and realities of hgh and there were experts (supposedly) there to testify. Hardly any of the congressmen showed up. I guess they either know everything or don't want to.

It confirms the fact that this is just a big show. We must save our children from this scourge and purify the sports world.

Yeah right. This is just about getting their faces on camera for an issue they think the public backs them on so they can get re-elected. Politics as always.

Tough on crime, change, save our children, etc. etc. The themes stay the same. Why? because it works with the uniformed public.

I agree, the thing I find odd is that congress decided last week after interviewing people concerning him; that they didn't want the hearing... It was forced by him and his lawyers.

Talk about self incrimination.. He just went under OATH infront of the government!

Actually Rog started out weak, but finished really strong. A couple of congressmen bashed the shit out of McNamee, it was obvious there is a split between the cong. committee, especially that one rep. defending Vit. B-12 injections to his FELLOW congressman. It got real ugly at the end, with that bees wax chairman pig-face ugly mofo telling rog to be quiet and that McNamee is credible, even though McNamee was called disgusting and shameless, etc.

Watch the whole thing, there is a time when Clemens gets on a soap box and rants, and I actually enjoyed it thoroughly -- he put things in perspective.

Maybe I missed something from the start, but didn't Clemens initiate this whole ordeal, in a sense? Yes, he was called out by Mcnamee, but he could have just let it ride out and been accused, correct?

If that's the case, shouldn't this been in a smaller civil court? Seems they went WAAAY overboard with this crap. Who cares, I don't think either of them deserver to sit in prison for 5 years of this crap.
