Ban a member for stupidity?

Seriously . . . it's a question worth asking.

My take on all this is just ignore what you consider
stupid posts - do not dignify them with a response.
Or take your issues with the member to PM (private
message).

Ignorance can be fixed, but stupidity is subjective.

It's also important to remember to stay on topic;
either that, or start another thread. Otherwise
it becomes so muddled as to become irreconcilable.
Or, take it to PM.

Dangerous posts or posters - members are
a different story.

I agree, some shit should not be said. The only problem I see is that the issue of what is "stupid" or not can turn into a giant piss match really fast. Just my $.02

That would just make people scared to post...and turn new people away.
Less new people, less new people to buy from sponcers, and the sponcers help keep the board up.
No, remember we got to be friendly, reguardless if they do deserve to be banned.

There are people that come to this site for the sole purpose of reading and learning. Threads like this example take away from the integrity of the board. Maybe they shouldn't be banned, but the thread should be locked or deleted.

I see

both sides.....you would think most would have common sense.....Some really don't realize damage they could do from the words, and post they add to a thread......that's why reminders of beginners forum is so important, unfortunately, some don't read it, or don't follow the rules, or may not understand them.

But, yes, the board needs the new member's all the time, it is growing fast.......so, more reasons to be careful of what you post

I really don't have a problem with stupidity as long as that person is open-minded and willing to learn from more experienced people. Let's face it, we were all very "green" at some point. But when knowledge and serious concern are met with hostility and arrogance, then it becomes a problem. And as Marilyn says, it belongs in the beginners forum

IMO, I think that guy actually thinks he looks great and to us he doesn't. How can you educate someone who is unwilling to learn. He has to live with himself, not us, so to answer your question, should he be banned for stupidity, NO. Alot of us do stupid things once in awhile, it is how you learn from it, that defines your character.

Looks like if he is trolling, he's doing a damn good job.

Reguardless no ones perfect, people learn and can change.
Its the ones that wont learn or change you need to worry about.
Reguardless, I'm sure the mod team has it under control

i would tread carefully here. ingorance, by its truest definition and stupidity are 2 different things. being ingorant and lacking knowledge can be overcome. i cant tell you how much ive learned since i got here. stupidity on the otherhand may be more of an issue. if someone is unwilling to learn how do you help them? i would not condemn anyone just because the didnt read the rules, a warning yes, because those rules are put in place for safety. i believe the mods probably have a protocal for how they deal with infractions. making the punishment fit the crime. there are threads that i personally would have deleted but the mods chose not to. i trust in theyre reasoning.

If maybe new members had a 1 by 1 checklist before they can join that might clean it up a bit...as for members flaming each other, I don't think We will ever see an end to that

im not sure the program can support a checklist like that but on the flaming part your right and its ashame. ive had plenty of disagreements with other members that have never turned into a name calling session. disagreement is essential. its part of a learning process we all take part in. and it would be a verry boring place if everyone just agreed. but personal attacks should be left to other boards where it doesnt seem to matter much.

The problem is the net, there is to much info out there & way to easy to get drugs. Back in the day, you had to befriend a vet in the GYM to get info or drugs. A vet would see you everyday busting your ass in the GYM & slowly begin talking & maybe if you where lucky you might get some good info & a source.

Most, as in 98%+ of people on internet boards, ordering and taking drugs are wasting their time and taking indefensible risks. They don't compete, don't plan on competing, or are just delusional about their possiblities.

im a good example

I am very new to this.... and the more I learn and post, I realize there should be filters put on certain threads to keep us from posting in.... would save the mods from deleting post... I for one think that the minimum limit on sponsor threads should be raised... because I am four weeks into first cycle and I still don't know shit... not saying others are like me, just saying if you have experience in this then why aren't you interacting.. I guess I am rambling on, but I ask for a lot of advice on here.. but I personally choose not to give any on AAS because I am just learning.... maybe next year or the next.. diet I will offer advice, lifting I will offer.. but the other is for guys/gals with 200+ and up number of post... as far as posting pics hahaha you want get me to post any until end of this year... that's a big hell no.. I am like a kid going through adololesence right now.. body is changing, appetitie is changing.. maybe after 3rd cycle.. save myself from getting slammed like some others do... but you can't learn if you done ask...stupid questions or not, they have to be asked

eh every on will post some thing "stupid" at least once. usualy yes when they first start posting. guess thats just a matter of being on the net. repeat offenders ya ban em. kinda think it would suck to be a mod. no offence but some times you would have to make a tuff call if a long time member started being a asshole. i dunno just my two cents.

But how does one define stupidity? You think its stupid, they think its legit or cool. Its all point of view. To me, rap or country music sucks. How many would disagree?
From my point of view, that guy had some gall to post his pics, and I agree was more than 12% BF, but why get banned?

one of the most dangerous things about some boards is misinformation coming from inexperienced people answering important health related questions...

answers to questions in the form of "..what do i take?" "..how much?" and "what if..?". more dangerous than the answers themselves, of course, are the people posting them. an opinion is one thing, but some of the shit i see....

banning them... if the banned person(s) could still read others posts, my vote is hell yes. never been banned from anywhere... can you still read the board and not post? or can you just not access it at all?
