well its been about 3 months since I did my last show. offseason is going really really well. I am trying to lean bulk this whole offseason and to not weigh myself on a scale all yr. either way I look at it I will be in the heavy weight class so I am just judging my gains from mirror, measurements and from what others tell me. so fat its been paying off, I have made the best gains I think I ever have and I still have another 2months of lean bulking before I will start my 16 week diet for collegiate nats. I am planning on being lean enough that I will only have to lose 15-20lbs at most, this way i wont sacrifice any muscle like I have in the past (losing 60lbs in 14 weeks! lol) anyways I am looking to just keep adding size all over, bring my legs, calves, hams and arm up a tad more and to be competitive in the heavys.
here is a pic I took real quick (mirror shot)
I will take some good ones when my wife is around to take some of me.

My first compliment will be for your excellent choice in hair and facial pubes style. That is definitely the look for the ages.........I think we might be brothers from another mother. :D

You look good. Very hard. Heck, from what it looks like to me, you're already dieting. You look to be halfway through your diet. It's hard to give an honest assessment without different angles and the wheels showing, but from those pics, you are pretty impressive.

I also agree with the not weighing yourself thing, my younger brother used to get himself down all the time, because the scale wouldn't move too much, but when he saw that I competed at about his bodyweight, he understood that it's not always about the scale.

It's tough not to be give into temptation and weigh yourself, but that can sometimes play games with your head, then force you to over-eat. You came up with a good plan and are sticking to it. Keep it up and..

Good luck.

you are very lean already and should have np trouble with your diet. best of luck.

Lean already, sheesh!! Can't wait for some more pics!

you look pretty good bro so far...i do agree with phil on the arms....how tall are you?

I am 23 yrs old about 5 "11. my arms are my weakest point. been struggling with it and have been trying everything. finally this year I went back to the basics and went light and just concentrated more on the negative and they are finally starting to grow a tad. right now pumped on a good day they are only 18 1/2. LOL but its still about 1/2inch bigger then last year.

sorry about the shitty pic. I will get some good ones up before I start dieting.

Arms have also been a weak point for me (still are) But I'm at an even more disadvantage, because my arms are long, it helped in boxing, but not in BB'ing. I did get some growth from cutting back on arms. I started focusing on mainly benching heavier and dips.

Basic work like barbells and dumbells, the main that that helped believe it or not was when I would miss a few arm workouts here and there. You won't believe how much work the arms get from concentrating on barbell rows and Bench presses, and avoid training them directly. I tried it and it worked.

did this show in 2000. bring the conditioning, everyone will have the muscle.

i dont compete, so i dont know much about it...

But i think you look awesome dude... back looks sick with the little waist

Lookin Great Latimus!

yah I tried that and I think I use straps to much because it takes alot of the work load of the arms and I didnt see much gains.

I have been doing the power rep range and shock trainnig (eric bosner trainning) its really working well for me so far. been through 2 cycles of the 3 week cycles and have seen great results. I also incorporate DC stretches after each bodypart and have been doing yoga stretching 3 times a week. stretching is something I have neglected to do and it seems to work really well for size gains.

Lookin sharp!!!!!!! Bring up those forearms brother!!!!!!!!!

yep. I actually had never trained forearms ever up untill 2 weeks ago. I think because I use straps all the time it hindered brining them up at all. so now I train them twice a week. wed and sat and the end of my workouts. plus I am trying to lay off the straps a bit also.

thanks to everyone for commenting

I dunno, your case may be different, but using straps regularly allowed me to use more weight on rows and things, and holding a heavier dumbell or bar seemed to help out my forearms a bit more. You look hella lean for "offseason," lol.

yeh

look awesome bro, real lean, i will tell u i know a guy whos focussssed on that same show, hes a little over 6 foot, 290 with abs, 23 yrs old, LOOKOUT

damn sounds like a big kid. you should have him get on here and post. I know 4 others doing the show. so far. 1 other guy in the heavies.

looking good latimus, your lean as hell bro, I would have liked to see you have more of an offseason (1yr at least) to focus on filling out your frame more! getting lean i don't think will ever be a problem for you, you need to add more size especially as you move up the ranks, hell heavyweights are some thick mofo's these days bro, and your gonna need to improve on your size to be competitive at the next level.

I agree. I just really wanted to do this show because its my last yr in college and after that I wont be eligible. once I am through with this show, I will take a yr at least off to fill out even more. I understand at my height in order to be competitve at the next level I will have to be a superheavy at least 240stage weight. I am hoping to be around 210 this yr.
I figure being at 23 maybe by 27 or 28 this will be possible.
I definelty need to thickin out. just did deads for the first time in over a yr today. actually PRed lol. hit 495 for 5. I have only deadlifted maybe 7 times in my whole life, so I am going to keep hitting these in hopes of getting some good thickeness gains.

the problem I have with taking a yr off. my body seems to really start hitting a set point and my gains kind of dwindle off. so doing 1 show a yr seems to give me a big rebound in gains.

and I actually did the math. I do have 3 more months to bulk before having to do a 16 week diet. so I have a bit more time then I thought.
