I work outside and my job is very physical labor. Last summer I cycled, ate, and worked out like a madman! I did loose alot of BF, but didn't gain any significant weight. I was ripped at about 7-8% BF. (6-01, 220lbs), However, my goal this year is that I want to get to 240 and still be ripped. Like I said, I ate like a madman....no, actually more like an Ethiopian at a 24hr all you can eat buffet!!

I see twinlab has a 3000 calorie weight gainer drink. Has/ Does anyone drink this stuff??? Does it just feed fat cells with all of the xtra calories??

Just tring to ease the grocery bill a little!!

Thanx Fellas!

Dogg Tale generally if you want to gain muslce you will also gain some fat.

Then you do a fat loss diet.

As far as the weight gainer that brand is good if you want to gain fat since it is almost all simple sugar.

try gainer 900 or size up...they contain hardly any sugar and this should help you keep from adding fat. i used 2 gainer 900's a day for 3 months and got up to 7.2% BF it worked pretty well for me but the size up is even lower in sugar-it only has like 12g per serving.

ABB XXL Wt. gainer

Try ABB XXL weight gainer:

1100kcal
~50g protein
~240 g carbs, only ~50 g sugars.

Mods, hope its OK to post a link to a supp. site - simply for info on the above product:

http://www.netrition.com/abb_xxl_drink_page.html

(Look for a better price - I can get 'em for $2.60 / bottle at a local store.)

Also, take some metamucil / fiber w/ this, unless you like diarrhea...

Probably the only difference between a 1k and a 3k weight gainer is the serving size. Probably has about the same amount of carb/sugar, fat and protein per measured amount. That said-I used to use alot of Twinlab Gainers Fuel and it worked great. Twinlab makes fine products.

I like...

Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass, which has per serving:

Calories 1250
Total Fat 4.5 g
Total Carbohydrate 252 g
Sugars 40 g
Protein 50 g

Here's the blurb from the manufacturer:

Serious Mass by Optimum Nutrition is formulated for athletes who are serious about packing on quality mass. Each serving delivers over 1,250 nutrient packed calories. In addition, Serious Mass provides 50 grams of muscle building protein from quality sources like Ultrafiltered Whey Protein Concentrate, Calcium Caseinate and Egg Albumen. By combining low glycemic carbohydrates with MCT's Serious Mass will fuel your body with enough energy to carry you through even the most demanding workouts. A special blend of vitamins and minerals gives Serious Mass a complete nutritional profile. Serious Mass is available in three delicious flavors.

Serious Mass Features:

No Sugar Added
1,250 calories per serving
Glutamine & Creatine Enhanced
50 grams of High Quality Protein per serving
Complete Vitamin Mineral Formula

I like it, and think it tastes pretty damn good (I've only had the chocolate flavor). I also like Optimum Nutrition Whey protein. Both are inexpensive and work well IMO.

later,

DrG
