I am looking to buy a high-quality, well designed, weightlifting belt for good lower back support

my price range is $50-60

please give me some recommendations.

If this type belt, **broken link removed** , is of interest, I have a new one I never use. 36" to the 3rd hole.

Weightlifing belts do not as much support the lower back as they increase your intra-abdominal pressure. The best support you can get for your lower back is strong abs, strong spinae erector, and good lifting form. By increasing intra-abdominal pressure belts will allow you to lift heavier weights, but they will not stop an injury if you use bad form or have an imbalance between your abs and your spinae erector.

Titan makes a similar belt to Inzer as well.
 
Anyone know what happened to Marathon?
Can't find them online.
I have one of their belts and it is still the best!
 
should i get a tapered belt or an untapered belt?

matter of personal preference. I prefer non tapered.
go to a gym or a sporting goods store and try some out first.
folks with short torsos may prefer the tapered ones (Men under 5'9")

Just to second the injury part. A couple of months ago I injured my self doing DL's. I tried wearing a belt( something I don't normally due) I think I put the belt on to tight causing my ab muscles not to fully contract and tearing or pulling the ligaments in between my pelvic bones.

It seems that different belts for different uses applies here. If you are an average guy lifting you will not use the same belt or SIZE if your lifting heavy ass weight.. i guess what i am getting at is deadlifters and heavy lifters will use a different belt then a above average guy lifting to ad a few lbs to his frame... or am i wrong altogether?

I like my old leather belt from 25 years ago that is not too wide in the back or piches your sides when it is on and your moving weight... seems complicated these days and it should not be
 
The way I see it is that there is really only one real use for a belt in weightlifting, and that is to increase intra-abdominal pressure. A tapered belt is less effective at that than a single width one.

When I started training I used by Dad's old tapered leather belt from the early 60s. Once I tried a single width, I never went back. I also hardly ever use a belt these days. I keep my abs and lower back strong and only use my belt for the occasional single rep max squats and deads.
 
I have a single width belt that is thick and I love it! Has a nice stainless roller so that I can get it really tight. Both titan and inzer are good and located near me. ha.
 
This belt is the shit, I've had it for years and it's great!
