Growing up as a kid i was introduced to fine cigars at an early age, My brother at the age of 19 owned his own cigar/coffee lounge and was doing exceptionally well back in 1994-95, Illness took over his life and he passed away in 1996,but before that took place he taught me many fine qualitys in life from fine wine imported cigars and collecting antiques, he was miles ahead of his day.

my old man started to get envolved in the cigar world and now has an international license for cigars, he also pretty much turned our entire basement back home into a huuuge ass cigar lounge and game room its simply amazing the entire wall is one big humidor it reaches 40 feet in length and 10 feet tall so you can imagine the thousands upon thousands of choice cigars I've been able to choose from.

Out of all my days puffing away, Id have to say above even the a good Cuban , Dominican or Honduras theres one cigar that stuck out from the rest.

LARS TETENS, The draw is exceptionally smooth and not unlike many cigars if not all of today they are rolled and made in such a unique way sets them apart from any other cigar by far, The tobacco is without a doubt the best and the cigar itself you can almost chew on while smoking cant beat it.

So if any of you ever have a chance to enjoy a cigar and want to try one of this worlds best look no futher then a good ole Lars Tetens, I personally perfer his PHAT cigars and especially the Asadachi. I had to post this up cause Im about to light one up for the 1st time in quite some time so Im rather excited lol:)

Avid smoker myself V. Lars I've had, but the ones I've had all seem to be spiced. I, myself, smoke Ashton Churchills basically one a day. I do like a bunch of others however like Punch, Cohiba (Cuban only). Not a real fan of Dominican Cohiba for the price they charge. But yeah man my every day smoke is an Ashton Churchill. Smooth and most of all consistent.

I don't smoke and I tried a cuban cigar...it made me feel sick...I thought it must have been the cigar...so when I was in Dominican Republic I tried a cigar there....made me feel sick...I think its just cigars in general....I think they're over rated

Thanks for that bit of info Vander. Now I know what to buy my brother or best friend when they have their next baby. I can remember going to buy cigars for my little brother about a year ago when his little girl was born. I didn't know what the hell to buy! I had my dad with me who smoked the occasional cigar and pipe in his younger days fortunately. Man was he shocked when he saw how much they'd gone up in 30 years!
There must be something wrong with me, b/c I've never enjoyed cigars, pipes, or wine. Everyone in my family drinks wine but me. WTF? Am I a product of inbreeding? Now I will smoke a clove cigarette every now and again, but that is b/c my buddies own the company. I figure if I'm going to smoke something then I should be helping them out. hahaha. The last time I did that I was going through a divorce and needed something to settle my nerves though.
I do like an occasional beer. Not that dark authentic crap. Give me that water'd down piss. hahaha. My German ancestors are probably rolling in their graves about that. And I drink that Mexican shit. I'm sure they love that!
Now my girl on the other hand....I'm trying to get her to quit cigs and she's really having a tough time. I posted a thread in the "counseling" forum if anyone has any suggestions.
Thanks!
Mackster

the few cigars ive had i didn't care for too much.. it probably didn't help i had no clue what i was buying and they were only about a buck a piece, haha..

i smoked some cheap black and milds or those swisher sweets with the tasty tips.. :p

i guess im just not too much of a cigar person...

No most people do not inhale, but I do know of a few that do.

I'm up in Canada so we have full access to Cubans. I like the Cohiba Esplenditos and Monte Cristo #2s. They are very expensive with our tobacco tax up here ($50+ each cigar). What do you guys pay in the US for real Cubans? I know they are all hush hush since Cubans are contraban down there. Just wondering what you would pay for the real cubans?

YES, thats my favorite Cuban also. But damn $50+ a cigar, thats expensive. They're illegal here and I can get them for $15 to $17. I feel for ya.

Kaiser - are you sure you are getting real Cohibas? There are a tonne of fakes out there. You can get so called "Real" Cohibas via Costa Rica and other islands in the region, but most are fake (either not cuban tobacco, or 2nd hand cuban tobacco rolled by farmers). I've had some really nice fakes that tasted close to the real thing, but I knew they were fakes direct from Cuba (because I got them there LOL).

Well, they taste the same as they always have and I've been smoking them since '97 probably. I just had them down in St. Martin and they tasted the same. I know there's copies out there but if these are copies, they're damn good. ;)

Yep Id hit up Canada (Windsor) every other weekend for some fine cubans we had a hookup for a box of 50 it came down to 40 a pop not bad for the real thing.

I like all kinds a stogies , Indios, partagas, Cohibas, Monte's, Punch, Acid, Dunhills, Romeos, Don Jauns, Fat Cats,Macanudos Portofinos, Aurora Rubustos, church hills , Fuentes.

but I still like a LARS , that leathery cigar you can chew on and get a enormous draw from, so smooth, nothing like a fine cigar with a glass of Crown or Chivas on the rocks of course ;)

I'm the same way,,, I get dizzy and sick,,,definitely not for me.

I think the reason most guys get a sick feeling from cigars is because they are smoking them in a non ventilated area. With cigars, you need to have some air flow in order not to gag on the thick smoke. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that nice smell of a cigar. But when the smoke gets too thick, it can ruin the experience. Thats why there are "cigar bars". They have proper ventilation. The golf course is also a great place for a cigar. Actually anthing outdoors works well.

Cigar Heaven

Man, I am so glad to see this post! I live in Tampa and I have access to some of the best handrolled fresh cigars in the world. I can't say which ones are my favorite because I smoke different ones:cool: every week. Most are cuban seed long stem and and most are excellent. I keep the little wrapper on the ones I really like.
I never brought up cigars in a forum because I thought most bodybuilders wouldn't be in to it but I am glad to see I was wrong.
My wife and I go to Ybor city on the weekends and we both get cigars from the little cigar shops there. They roll them right there. My wife is a bleach blond hottie and you should see the looks we get when we walk around puffing up a storm.

|---[\\\\]>---------- why is it that some cigars are illegal?

Well i tried a few while on my honey moon @ Punta Canna..D.R......I have to tell you the Cohiba or could it have been cobina......were pretty dam good...Its the only one i can say i really liked...

They were cuban....I liked them a lot wish I had a source for cuban's...

Because we here in the US have a stupid embargo against Cuba and their products because of politics in the 60's. Yup, you heard it right, the 60's, and our retarded politicians still keep it active yet we still are able to purchase goods from the Middle East which is our current situation. It's even illegal for us to travel there for vacation. It just does not make sense.
