D-ribose

I guess 15-20g is optimal from what I have gathered over the last year or so...
Does it matter when it is taken or if it's taken all at once? Does it taste bad? Does it upset the stomach if you take a large dose at once. Does it matter if it's intra workout?

Never even thought about this supplement until I saw it in the heart attack thread. Can't hurt to add it. With or without food or does it not matter?

Bigdog this shit is so expensive for a type of sugar lol MP big advocate of it. I.know its got some health benefits. I cannot justify the cost tbh. Might as well double dose and buy more curcumin phytosome , fish oil lol

One study I read on D-Ribose compared to dextrose dosed 10g before and after working out for one week, came back as the dextrose supplementing group yielding better test results/outcomes. This was with rowers, not weight lifters.

Another study stated in conclusion that weight lifters saw no major improvement in ATP levels compared to not supplementing with it. Low doses were used though via capsules.

The positive things I saw for it was for heart attack survivors' recovery, and fibromyalgia.



Despite the negative things I read for it, I've never used it, and don't know anyone who uses it. So these studies could mean jack shit in a high-dosed application with enhanced lifters.

Clinical studies of endurance and strenggth showed that 5 grams 3x/day is optimal. Timing is best pre-workout and DURING workout.

Sure but I don't expect much for recovery. I just ordered it after reading all the cardiac benefits but if it helps with recovery that's a plus.

Having Chronic fatigue myself, its mostly recoomended for CFS patients at 3 x 5g a day... That being said I only noticed slight benefits if not placebo.
