DC question

I am wanting to begin DC style training and have a question of clarification. Do you switch each workout to one of your favorite 3 constantly rotating, or do you stay with the excersise(ex: bench on Monday, Friday, Wednesday) until you no longer make any progress with weight or reps? And then begin the next excersise

Rotate 3. If we are talking chest you might see

Incline Press
Flat Dumbbell
Incline HS Press

then Incline Press again. You continue the rotation until a lift stalls and that singular exercise is replaced.

I suggest you go yo the doggpound on intense muscle and read the stickies.

Pick 3 exercises for each body part. Use ONE of these 3 exercises each time you work out. Let use workout 1 for example:

1A Incline Smith press

1B Decline Smith press

1C Flat DB press

so every time you hit workout 1 you rotate in an exercise. once you get to 1C you go back to 1A.

To the letter

Just be sure to follow DC TO THE LETTER, or you'll be disappointed. The stretching, the extra cardio, no carbs in the evening, EVERYTHING. Those that are able to follow his instructions exactly get great results. But if you only do it half-ass or even 90%, you won't get good results at all.

If you go on his site, his forum, you'll see examples of "to the letter" devotees who look amazing. BUT you'll see many, many others who think they are following DC right, but don't look very good at all, just big and bulky.

This is my opinion from 6 months experience with it. I think I did about 90% of what I was suppose to. I gained a lot of weight and strength, but didn't like the way I started looking (like a fat moose) and got so I wasn't enjoying my workouts and never getting a pump. And when I'd flex, after several months of DC, I couldn't flex "hard" if you know what I mean. I could squeeze a muscle hard, but it wasn't rock hard, like before DC. I have a theory on this that I recently posted in another thread with the title "Am I Doing Something Wrong" or something similar to that.

no flame nevern and no hate :), just wanted to know . you said "I think I did about 90% of what I was suppose to" what was the 10% you did not do?

I have heard a lot of people getting good results from dc training. I am doing the 5x5 right now. After a while my body will adapt to this and I will be going dc as well. That is if I dont hire a trainer.

IM still dumbfounded that after all these years, all this information out there and all this data that is in front of you..... that people think weight training has something to do with you getting "fat" instead of your diet/cardio.

a) God comes down and gives you the ultimate size producing workout and you eat fettucine alfredo and greasy spareribs 7 times a day......you are going to get fat

b) God comes down and gives you the ultimate size producing workout and you do cardio and diet down like Shelby or Skip or Alex wants you to.....you are going to get ripped.

Training doesnt make you fat......that stuff on your fork going from south to north is.

All I have to say is Dave Henry and Shelby Starnes. Who in the fuck is "fat and smooth" and has the most ridiulous ass striations that I've ever seen?

the pic of the marbled prime beef on his other thread made me hungry.
