Got an appointment coming up Monday.

Want to trend my bf while dieting.

How accurate would it be? I also have access to hydro testing (if that would be more accurate).

I am on a carb cycling type of a diet, so some days will have more glycogen.

I am thinking that may effect the body fat % due to glycogen and water mass but it should not effect the fat mass?

Am I correct in my thinking. ?

Its the most accurate testing their is. With hydrostatic you have to taken into account VT and calculate the remaining air left in the lungs ect.

You're over thinking it. Just lay there.

Just wanted to see if one of my dexa scan was done when depleted and other one done after a refeed, if it would effect the results.

Can Dexa distinguish between water and fat? I read it's still only +/- 3% which is still pretty high inaccuracy.

Pegged at 15.6%


Total mass 163.5 lbs
lean mass 131.8 lbs
fat mass 25.6 lbs.
bone mass 6.2 lbs
will recheck in 4-8 weeks.

At 262 my dexa was 17.2%. I'm down to 240 now going to get another one soon to see it's accuracy.

It's not going to give you any data to calculate accuracy but still good to track. Post up your results when u get them.
