Diet issue that can't be solved

I am trying to cut down now and have had some losses but CANT get into ketosis.

I'll lay out just the fact then a few ideas I have about why - I am open to NOT doing a keto diet but it just always worked for me better.

60/40 fat/prot - 170/250 - approx 2600 cals
205-208 (depleted/carbed) 5'9"
**taking 25 mcg t3
** ECA 2-3 times a day
Trying to keep soda low - was too high but never had issues in the past
Using a topical fat burner as well

In the past I did lower protein but the palumbo/anabolic type diets say higher prot is ok. Is the higher prot with the low dose t3 causing the problems?

I show ZERO ketones and dont have the normal energy that I get from ketosis.

The only thing that made me show trace once was pgcl and only one time, not consistently.

Should I just give up and try another type of diet?
Any tips on a low carb but non-keto diet if that is my only solution?
 
Why don't you list out exactly what you're eating?
 
Average meal 25g-30g fat and 30-45g prot done in combo as needed to meet daily numbers.

All food from this list again as needed to meet numbers for meal and day.

FATS:
Hemp oil
Macadamia nut oil
1-2 servings almonds/day (5-10g carbs)
1 tbs peanut butter a day (3g carbs)
1-2 servings Cheddar (1-2g carbs)

Prot:
4-5 ounce servings of chicken / 1-2 day max (marinade with 1g carbs per 2 tbs)
6 ounce servings ground turkey
2.5 ounce can tuna with 4 teaspoons mayo
1 shake a day on workout days - before or after depending on schedule and feel

Those are pretty much my only foods, used as needed to hit those numbers.

Could any potential cortisol increase from taking lexapro be a problem, I am on a hefty cutting cycle that should blunt it.

Considering adding topical 7-oxo incase

I will tell you One trick That will Push ANYONE i know Into Ketosis as fast it can be.

Wanna know the Truth?

Fast for 3 Days Straight , ONLY DRINK WATER.

Change your Diet Like this 80% FAT, 20% Protein

Day 1 80% Fat, 20 % Protein.
Day 2 Fast - Water
Day 3 Fast - Water

Theres no way in Hell you cant get into Ketosis that way.

Too much Protein will Trow you out Of Keto.

Not Enough fat will Create problems to Get into Keto.

Btw Everyone can Create Ketones.

Ketones = health Sign

and NO your not going to lose muscle in 3 days... please

Hey Shelby For how long without Carbs you start to get into Ketosis While not eating food?

Do you know the order of depletation Before going into Ketosis?

I read its

1.Glucose inside the Body 1hour - 8 Hour
2.Liver Glycogen( glycogenolysis + some Protein) 8 Hour - 12 Hours
3.Muscle glycogen Store 12 Hours - ???? Until your Muscle are depleted.

Until Muscle are Depleted fully then you get into Ketosis???

Ketosis

That means we can go 12 Hours Without Having Glucose and this will Not Lead to muscle loss if im Understanding???

The problem i See into Getting in ketosis is When glycogenolysis Occur, If you still Eating protein, Why would your body Get into Ketosis? The liver will convert that Protein into glycogenolysis theres no point into Using ketones since glycogenolysis Form Glucose to supply the body.

THATS the problem into getting In DEEP ketosis.

I found that after Fasting for 48 Hours i was Feeling really good the morning after.
 
Cut the Ephedrine

I bet you it's the Ephedrine. It is notorious for raising both Fasting Blood Glucose as well as fasting insulin, possibly leading to varying insulin resistance depending on the duration of use. It could very well be hampreing your body's ability to enter Ketosis, as it does for a few.
I dropped it for this very reason as it was the main reason my BG was remaining elevated even though carb depleted and strict P/F diet.
If you search you will see studies as to the effect of ECA on BG/Insulin. Also, you will find info on a few boards with similar member experiences as to mine. One in particular could not figure out why he was easily in Keto for 3 weeks until he introduced ECA. Once dropped, all was well again after a few.
Not saying ECA will be an issue for all as it varies on individual sensitivities as well, but it is possible that it may be effecting.

Just a thought.
 
Hmm... When I did it in the past I used nor-ephedrine but I guess it could have been different.

Maybe something like slim xtreme would work better
