Different between %body fat

Hi guys...
(sorry for my English-I have been in USA only for 2 years.I haven't been taken any English writing classes:(
My question is:is any different between % body fat-normal person,athletic person and person who lift serious weight?
I have a problem to understand what is my % body fat.In my Gym we have an electronic scales.When I check the % body fat of my clients show me one numbers which are close to what they have to be..when I check my % body fat show me others.Show me higher % body fat.When I did not lift heavy weight my % body fat was round 11-12.Now when I lift heavy weight and everybody saying that I look leaner than before(with the same body weight)and I have definitely more lean muscles my body fat % is between 10-13...some time 13.2
How can I understand what is my body fat % and what is the est one for my figure(5.2 hight,107lbs)

Annie, the scales and gadgets used to measure bf% by electric impeadence or electric current are not very accurate for strength athletes or Bbers. They will however show a loss or gain in %. It is the extra bone and muscle density that puts the reading off. Use the mirror sweetheart, it will tell you what you want to know!!

thanks..but still I . want to know where I am..I do not want to be under 9%..I have a lot of veins(even on my stomach)...I do not like them,but lucian always saying that this is ok....what is the %body fat for a female who lift heavy weight but do not train for show?

Sounds like you are somewhere around 10-13%. For a woman that's pretty damn good! Put up some pics in the members photos. We'll be able to better judge by those. But sounds like you are pretty lean already.
 
Do you have anyone that can use calipers well?

That can get you a lot better %

But I think if you post pictures then you will get lots of feedback from the members

yeah, those electrical impedence bodyfat devices are really bad. I tested at 6% bodyfat with calipers and then used one of those devices to check as a reference. Its said I was 18% bodyfat,lol!
They do make devices that are supposed to be calibrated for athletes, but I still wouldnt trust them. Have yourself measured with the calipers.

yeah, its different for male and female. There are different equations I believe. This website is nice. All you do is feed in your measurements into one of the methods and it tells you your bodyfat. THe ones with the most sites are the most accurate. I like the Jackson-Pollock 7 site the best.

I'm 6ft around 240lbs and I guess I'm around 20 ish % BF and I've tried 2 BF scales and they've come up with an error.

hmmmm veins in my abs, and you can see everymuscle on my body???sounds like 18%to me.;)
and then a rbo who is not in shape got on it and guess what??? he was 16%!!!!
these scales are inaccurate, and dont work for people with a certain ammount of muscle mass.

im not even worried about it, when people ask me my bodyfat% ijust lift my shirt and they dont even care then.
as long as you look lean i dont see the point in knowing what your bodyfat is.
just go by the mirror, you know when you are making progress or not, or we can do progress pics every week like rich did.

You fatty. It has me at 14%ish and Im not even training for a show. Youve got some catching up to do ;)

it will probably be up to 30%%%

Those electronic scales are not reliable at all

true more so for people with more muscle bound and atheletic builds...or if youve even eaten or drank anything that day
