Dorian Yates get knocked out..

Dorian Yates was punched in the face by freefighter Dick Vrij after the Grand Prix in Amsterdam this sunday.
The argument was over last years promotor, and some moneyissue there in between. Dorian had blood over him after the incident and did´nt look too happy. Insane to hit a 42 year old man. He is a trained fighter and quite high ranked.

i wish he would of done that when dorian was on about 3g of shit and see what happened. i mean after he woke up from being knocked out,,lol.. could you imagine a 300lb olympia winner raging on your 150lb ass. i think the fighter dude would be ok unless dorian got ahold of him.. crazy shit though..

i dont think it was last sunday, i read about it i few weeks ago on Bolex. either way its shitty, dorian is a cool ass guy and like you said 42yrs old now.

Yeah, thats a few weeks old. I don't care how much gear Dorian was on, the other guy is a professional fighter, and a good one. Dorian would have got handled.

Yup, Vrij is like 6" somthing and at least 240lbs. He'd put a beating on an untrained guy, which is enough reason that he should NOT be running around punching people.

just wanted to clarify a mans height dont mean much..lol iam only 5'6 207lbs and i have knocked out many taller than me... example : so if you see a guy lets say at a bar .. and think that you can take him ...and you say o your friends uh hes short never doubt us short people..lol my experiences

Something to NEVER forget

Fellas I agree Dorian would have his hands full, but we must always remember that a fight can go any way anytime.....Granted the fighter has the upper hand, but all it takes sometimes is one well placed punch. The man was known not only for his freaky size, but also his strength. There is a chance Dorian could have connected and the result could have been pretty unfavorable for the fighter. So never be too overconfident, and forget to respect a man that has such strength as he has, gear or no gear he is still an ox.

yeah its sad how disrespetful people can be, most likely it was a quick sucker punch and it was over. the guy should have a little self control being that he is a professional fighter.

Wasn't saying his height or weight were an advantage, just giving his stats. I'm on the short side myself, and rather enjoyed taking to it taller guys in the past.

I agree with Ivan, a fight can go any way in a millisecond, what I was trying to say is that a trained fighter will usually have an edge on someone who is not.

Of course a trained fighter may have an advantage, but some people are just born with more natural ability than others too. You can take a fighter who's trained in MMA, BJJ, JKD, or whatever else, but if he was born with poor reflexes, little strength and the inability to think quickly and put him against a guy who's only triaining was a few good bar fights, but that has all the natural ability, most likely the trained fighter will be on the ground shortly.

Really though, like Ivan said, it's mostly about who's lucky enough to connect with that first good blow. Once your opponent's stunned, he's done, if you know what you're doing.

...wasn't it? From what I heard since I head about this when it first happened was that the guy had no reason to go off like that. Just another guy that is giving another profession I love a bad name.
