There's a new piece of gym Equipment coming out soon,
from what I hear they are remodeling it to make it
more user friendly. The idea was to be able to take the dumbbells out of a adjustable rack weither your in a decline, flat or incline position, and when
your done with your reps you set the dumbbells back in,no slamming
them down to the floor.Helps to prevent shoulder injury.
Check it out but note they are making changes.Let us know what you think?
Web-site is www.tekfusionnewagegymequipment.com

Thanks bro's.............

As a designer of some of my own equipment I have been playing with the idea of something like this. I would like to see the stands to be height adjustable if they aren't already. But It is a great idea for when you are using the bigger dumbells. Being able to rack them safely without the need to drop them is a real plus. Good Idea!

Send me one, I'll test it for you!!!;) :D

Thats not new at all... been around for a while

That's just a model,it's going to have a different look in a few week and
it is patient with the U.S. Goverment,so I doubt you seen this anywhere.
Because it's not on the market yet,but have orders with Golds Gym
and some N.F.L teams are interested in it,some of those guys have really
bad shoulders and have to be handed the dumbbells.

I assume this is your project, jimijimi? Or you're selling it?

It's a good idea, and I've thought about something like this in the past. But what I realize is that with dumbbells I have no "fear" of going to failure, since I can just drop them on the floor when I'm done. I think the damage to the dumbbells are overrated when it comes to dropping them. I'm not talking about THROWING them, which seems to be a gym epidemic, I'm talking about gradually lowering them down from chest level and then letting go. If you have rubber floors, no damage to either the bells or the floor.

Also, dumbbells are good in that there is no need for a spotter, unlike the bench press. So I don't have to worry about going to failure.

A couple of points on the equipment from what I can see:

1) Can it handle heavy weight? I'm talking 120 - 200 pounds? It looks narrow where it catches the dumbbell.

2) It looks like I'd really have to be precise in where I'd rack the dumbbells. If I were to miss with one side, I'm setting myself up for even worse injury then if I were using a regular barbell bench press.

3) If I wanted to do flyes out to the side, it looks like I'd have to really stretch back to find the right place to re-rack the dumbbells.

Also, I think what PlateStacker might have been talking about are the dumbbell hooks, which have been out for years, although I don't see any gyms use them (I wish they would, I'd use them)

Some good points to think about. But I wasent talking about the hooks. We had a bench that could incline/decline/flat that had pillers with cup-like platforms so you can start the dumbell lift from the top posistion, just like the one on that website. There was a cutout in the holders to put you hands threw and grab the dumbell handles. This was a old school hardcore PL/BB gym and that bench must of been from the 70's-80's.

Whats going on brooklynbb,Yes I designed It,now let me answer your questions and keep in mind I've changed the design a little, like anything
else you want it to be perfect and easy to use.New look in a few weeks bro.
Your Questions-Each will hold 500lbs,no dumbbells that heavy and the rack the dumbbells sit in is one of the changes,so there will be lot of room to land them in. That would answer question 1 and 2.
3rd question,we solved that to,the rack will be in more so you won't have to stretch back. It's a little difficult reaching back for dumbbells, you see that's a model to solve those problems, all fixed now.New pics soon bro.
The hooks,ya I've seen them on a web site to.Don't know why the gyms don't have them? Maybe there waiting on my equipment lol.
Great questions Bro. Thanks.......
