false caliper readings??

i had my bf checked today and it came out to be 9%...i had it checkd 3x in the last 6 months-the oldest 1 was 10.4%..next 9.9% and 9% for this 1...the nurse said that my stomach distends so much that it made it hard for her to get an accurate skinfold reading on my stomach? does having a distended stomach make the bf test false??
i'm totally confused about what she said....
