I recently broke my 5th Metatarsal (Jones Fracture) in my right foot in a HIIT class and need to have a screw placed for proper healing. My ortho doc is encouraging me to keep up with my strength training but no pressing movements with my right leg and obviously no cardio as I will be non-weight bearing for 2-3weeks....post that he will allow me to swim.

I am currently mid cycle and I am unsure if I should discontinue my cycle due to the injury or finish it out as I am still allowed to weight train.

Also I am interested in any thoughts about possible peptides to help speed with recovery.

Current cycle:
Test cyp 600mg/wk
Primo 600mg/wk
NPP 300mg/wk
Proviron 75mg/ed
Adex .5mg/ed

I appreciate any feedback....thanks brothas.

I was able to ride the bike with my broken foot. I was in a boot type cast and made it work pretty good.
I've taken some HGH with 2 other surgeries and it seemed to help my heal but they weren't btoken bones it hernia type stuff. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. My ortho was pretty clear on 'non-weight bearing' and I do not think biking was an option as it may still put a little pressure on my foot but I'm sure biking would come sooner than running/HIIT.

Yea....I have done a little more research and have found that GH does speed the recovery process a little. Its definately at the top of my list.

Dragon, be careful with peptides...really research them! The reason being is that you don't want to take anything that reduces inflammation...I'm sure the doctor has told you or will tell you not to take NSAID's. Inflammation is an important process when it comes to healing fractures! Trust me, I've had two fusions, lumbar and cervical, as well as a fractured T6 vertebrae.

True words.

As for your Jones fx. Pin it and non weight bearing. Dont mess with it. You dont want a malunion and having to deal with that.

Things that will help are anything that helps signal bone growth. GH, insulin etc. I dont care too much about callus formation there so your not going to mess anything up by taking those. And as bio said no nsaids or things to reduce inflammation.. you need that.

My foot is casted currently and I was was wrote an Rx of 800mg Ibuprophen as needed. Its been over a week and I have maybe only taken two doses as I am not expiriencing any pain now. I do not know what I will be prescribed post surgery.

I have read that GH therapy along with Vit. d and calcium supps could speed the healing process. Any thoughts?

i have seen lot of orthos prescribe NSAID for post op pain, or even pre op fractures. Does it inhibit healing to a significant extent? not sure, but i feel like there are more signals then just the ones blocked by NSAIDs, that allow the healing to occur, and it probably does not make a HUGE difference in the grand scheme of things.

follow your orthos guidance, all the other things may change the timeline by a week or two here or there. Not significantly.

Ugghhh....I broke a metatarsal once and it was absolutely miserable

Hey Bud. There is a technology called prolozone that involves injecting ozone with other anti-inflammatory.This causes your body to super heal. I have had injections into the knees, kneck and lower back with good results.
U might want investigate.

Ozone can be put anywhere with the right specialist.

i hadda jones fracture back around '02. doc said it was the worst healing bone u can break besides your ear bones.
it basically snapped outward into pieces.
i was in a boot and used crutches for quite awhile and even some years later it would hurt if i did too much
ur lucky gettin it screwed together. i were u i'd probably drop it all, just do a little test to maintain. i did that recently when i fucked up my achilles and hadda weat a boot for 7 weeks. i used bpc-157 for that but theres evidence it helps tendons, not bones.

My fracture was pretty clean. I was given the option of surgery as the healing process is faster and there is little chance of a rebreak. In addition without surgery I would be non weight bearing for a min. of 6wks...he won't even let me drive as opposed with surgery weight bearing possible in two weeks with driving and swimming privileges.

Its extremely hard for me right now as I can't even drive.

For myself speaking I would probably stop and go into PCT.
If I cant train 100% all out,,I feel like I'm short changing myself with my gains.
I'd save your gear for another time after your back on your feet again.

Thanks for the reply. I most likely will end up doing this and continuing with my TRT.
