I have been a member for over a year and never had the balls to post any pics here. I used to carry a lot more size years back and am a former professional athlete but was sidelined for a little while do to health issues with my heart. I don't want to go into the details as have been training hard again for a couple years and want to focus on the positive. I do know my limits as I have a Master's degree in Physiology and always monitor bloodwork, ECG's, ect. I cannot carry the weight around every day that I used to (250-260ish depending on a lot of factors) so I have streamlined my physique and have been trying to get leaner and leaner and maintain single digit bodyfat % year round while adding muscle. Anyway, I am between 6' and 6'1" and currently am down to 218 at 8.3% bodyfat. That is according to the Dexascan machine at my clinic, which is basically an MRI machine. It even shows where you hold your bodyfat in the image. Mine is held in my back and lower abdominal region. People usually get flamed and are ripped apart when they say what there bodyfat % is so let me state that: I am not saying my bodyfat is 8.3%, I am saying that was the dexascan reading. Whether someone thinks I am higher than that, I probably am. But this is a consistant machine I have been tracking it with so if is 2% off today, it will be off 2% next month. With that being said, PM has exceded all my expectations and I am very greatful to you all for making it what it is.

Please let me know what my strengths and weaknesses are in your opinion. FYI - I have been "off now for 8 weeks and am a bit flat but am starting my new "DVD viewing" in 2 weeks time. I will keep a log here with pics and stats every 3 weeks if there is any interest from you all. Let me know. Thanks in advance!
Scotty

BLURRY - DAMN!

Sorry- I didnt realize the first was so blurry, it is clear in smaller pics. I do another one or have my gf take more this weekend if there is interest.

you need full body pics

have someone take some good ones

cant really see anything

:)

I am basically by myself during the week with my work schedule so I will have my gf do some this weekend with fullbody shots outside if there are enough responses. The only blurry one is the quarter turn, the rest are clear but I get that you cant see the big picture. I was impressed I was able to do these on my own. haha

pictures might be blurry bro but i know a good set of calves when i see them.

Thanks Diesel, I grew up with stick calves and would train them everyday to not look so out of proportion with my quads for years. Those calves have a lot of man hours of work behind them

Looks great...

I get you on the Dexa and the 8.3%... it also takes into account bone mineral density and so on. As you know, subcutaneous body-fat measurements (skin-fold calipers) might be a little bit different.

I would say you are pretty close if anything... your legs, chest and tri's look like they only have a few "mm"'s of skin-fold on them.

Look good... keep it up!

Looking good brother, but You need your girl to take full pics.

HEY!

You are muscular, vascular, and look great to me. I have tried to keep my bodyweight down for some time now as well.

I think you look really good, Scott.

Alot of hard work their. From what I can tell your cut, lean, vasicular great job brother. Keep going

Hey bro, thanks for the positive comments. They are much appreciated. If I get skin fold's done by 10 diff people, I get 10 diff results. The dexascan elliminates the most common problem with flawed bodyfat test results.....Human Error.

Bioelectrical impedance with a good $600 hand held is great for the general population but when you get below 12 % it throws it way off as hydration and water levels speed the current, dehydration slows it. I tested the theory in our Sports Med clinic. I did the Bio Impedance test 2 days in a row. on the first I was overly hydrated and fully recovered from workout trauma (3 days off) and was 5.5% (yeah rite). I cut my water and added lasix and spirolactone and hit the sauna a few times that night. I was completely dehydrated and 6lbs lighter the next morning and it had me a 12.0%.
Hydration level alone change the test results by more than double.

That is why I love the dexascan. the only variation is the machines once per year calibration. Thank goodness I dont have to pay the $250 we charge for the test!

Thank you very much, we talked an hour ago and we will do them this weekend with tradional bb poses and quarter turns with my good digital camera. Hope to have them up monday. Thanks again

Thank you J.T. I follow a lot of your threads, you always have me cracking up. Your sense of humor is great and all too familiar with my own. I really do appreciate the compliment, especially from you. Much respect my friend. Thanks again

BTW-that home gym you have is awesome

:DLooking good bro... lets get the good pics up and see if we can vote you in for a feature member !!!!:D

Damn dude, your calves are ridic. I wish mine where half as muscular/vascular, haha. Keep up the good work!

Big E42, I don't think the pictures you posted are doing you justice as you are trying to work the camera and pose.

But I will tell you that you are looking good, vascularity is showing and I like your side chest and damn those calves. I wish I still had mine, left side is gone due to a ruptured achillies tendon.

I don't think the hydrostatic test will be that much of a diifference from the dexacan test.

Keep us posted and keep the pictures coming.

Looking good, nice and vascular and great calves

Bump the full body pics

Looking very good man. I would say the dexascan is very accurate, but everyone has their opinions. Working in the medical field, I know this type of imaging is very accurate and very expensive!!

too much info but oh well, here it goes

Yes, it is a little tough taking your own pics with a camera phone and posing, the blurryness is from my hand shaking. I'm out of practice from holding poses as my competition days were over back in 2005 in the heavyweight division.
I am honestly very surprised I am not smaller and flatter while being clean for over 2 months and dieting with relatively low carbs....I have my own cal and carb cycling approach.
I really have not started cardio yet either, it has all been through diet. I will start cardio in 2 weeks when I start a 12 week mild DVD's viewing cycle, then you will see some vascularity. I have the hard part (diet) down to a science, I firmly believe diet is 60% of the equation we can control (the others being training and DVD's/supps). We cant change genetics but a tight, consistant diet over the weeks will get you a whole lot of looks as you stroll down Siesta Key Beach on the weekend! dbol cant do that.....just hard work and discipline.
Anyway, I am going to keep a log with stats, workouts, cardio, ect and post pics every 3-4 weeks if I get a few more members that show interest. I work my ass off all week at the hospital and gym and don't want to log it all for 10 people. Now if 20 or more will follow it, I am all in. I am setting myself up for success here as you bet your ass I will not get lazy or cheat on my diet when I know some great folks at PM will be seeing my progress. My goal will be 5.5% bodyfat at 225 lbs by week 12. That is dropping nearly 3%bf while gaining 7 lbs ofoverall bodyweight.....It's 2 a.m. but I believe that is a 14 lb lean mass gain.
Thanks for the positive feedback Thick! Peace

Big E, count me in as I would like to follow along as you grow and lose bodyfat. I know your post is inspiring others also. What I like is that you are finding balance in your work and your lifestyle. Good job my friend and I urge you to do the log.
