how often to lift?

ive been doing one body part one time a week for a couple weeks now and feel totally pumped and see great gains
if i feel great on my day off and want to lift, should i try it to see what i can gain or continue with what im doing?
 
need a bit more info in terms of lifting history, previous training methods etc.
but most things work, just nothing works forever. its a great tool to be able to keep challenging the body by adding a new method of taxing the muscles.

when you stall on one body part a week and cant up poundage or volume, you can reduce volume - up intensity and up frequency for example to shock the muscles out of adaption.
but if its working for you, only change it when it stops.
 
I would keep doing what you're doing until you stop making gains (size/strength). When that happens, and it will, then change what you're doing, repeat :)
 
if you feel like throwing an extra day in... go for it...do the next work out in your rotation or hit a lagging body part..

train the same ---stay the same
 
I have found that I need different frquency of training for different body parts. For instance I train my calves almost every workout and at 42 they are far superior to where they were at 22 when I was competing and I thought I was training much more intense. I only do legs once (maybe a light second session) but I train chest/back/bi/tri sometimes three times a week. Shoulders are much less but they are evidently getting plenty.
I am not nearly as set on a "routine" as I used to be and I am only wishing I had done this years ago.
 
4 days a week try to go as heavy as possible, but only deadlift once every 3 weeks

On ur day off id work GPP, grip strength, sled drags, tire flips, and general weak areas to bring those up....
