Hydroxyprogesterone caproate

Hello, My Father has been prescribed Testosterone from his doctor for at least 20 years.

I found a bag in his bath room of old vials and boxes, what I found was many empty vials of Hydroxyprogesterone caproate.

This is a female hormone and I cant imagine why my father would be taking this???

I have looked online and found that this is explicitly for female use except for transvestites.

I was thinking maybe many years ago hydroxyprogesterone was used along with HRT to achieve hormonal balance, and he just has been continuing on with this old school protocol?

Is it possible that Hydroxyprogesterone could stop the testicals from shrinking while taking test?

I cant imagine why a male would be taking female hormones, and I cant understand why doctors would be prescribing this to my father?

lol, Im beginning to think that, he has had this prescribed to him by at least 2 different doctors, so these doctors would have to have some sort of reason to prescribe it to him.

The mentioned drug has been used to treat prostate problems. I didn't know that off the top of my head, I did some research and found some studies in a couple medical journals. Perhaps that could be why he was taking it. Coincidentally, the studies showed no real improvement in prostate condition when taken. Maybe that's why he didn't take it for that long. Just a thought.
