Would an at home pregnancy test confirm the authenticity of hCG? Weird question I know, but it seems like it would make sense.

Incorrect.

Most pregnancy tests are standardized for ranges between 15-25 mIU/ml (.015-.025 IU/ml). That's "mIU/ml" (milli IU per ml) NOT IU as in your post.
Some brands of early preg tests go as low as 6mIU-10mIU/ml.
