For the fellas who don't know, my dad had a stroke last Sunday. Chopped some wood and came in with a headache. The docs are saying it was a subtle stroke. Luckily we noticed it.
He got out of the hospital last night. They've got him on a mild dose of blood thinners. I'll be taking him in again tomorrow for a test in order to see if they've got his dosage right. Luckily he doesn't have any motor issues, no slurred speech. The Md's are saying he should make a full recovery. His area of damage was in the 'comprehension area'. For example, he thought we were taking him up to the regular doc in spite of the fact that I mentioned we were going to the emergency room a few times.
Supposedly the cells around the area will take up the slack for what damage was done. My main job is to enforce the "NO DRIVING RULE"..lol. He's reading and already walked on the treadmill. He was walking up and down the hospital hallway 160 times per day for the four days he was in the hospital.
He's just not one to sit around idle. He qualifies all the cops in our area on the rifle range. Hopefully he'll be okay after a while. We'll see how it goes.
Sorry to hear about that JT. My best wishes to your dad on a full recovery. Im sure he'll be as good as gold soon. You and your family/dad will be in my prayers.
