Ok guys here is the deal, I am fed up with my job I have been with this company for 2.5 years. I am an Area Manager for 2 Supplement stores( had 3 we closed 1 of them in 2006) and am not going to disclose the name. Basic details:
Filed taxes last year on 57,897 bucks
Halfway through this year due to bonus and comission restructuring I am on pace to make 46,500 roughly. Yeah I am getting screwed....
Now I don't know about you guys but making 10 less grand doing the same job in less than a year is just plain not right in my opinion. Managers in out company our dropping like flies.
I have a Wife and 4 and half year old I have to think about before changing jobs. I have recently gone back to PT part time and start monday at a local gym making 21.50 an hour. It is a SAD situation that I have to resort to working a 2nd job to make ends meet.
I have a job possibly lined up with a local WELL known plant that is Union and starts out Production Workers at 23.00 bucks an hour. The plant is working mandatory 6 day work week with Sundays optional at double time for whoever wants them. They don't allow anymore than 64 hours a week due to Union Rules. The only drawback is they work swing shifts, 1 month 1st, next 2nd, next 3rd... I know this will be a tough thing for adjusting to be with my wife and son. I am also planning on do the Jr. Nats next year.
Annual Pay with just Sat: 62,400
Working Sunday: 76,000 annually
Top out with this company for Production is 39.45 an hour right now. Most of these guys make 100+ a year and turn down supervisor positions because the pay on the line is so good.
How many of you guys work factory jobs and what are the +/- of them?
I really don't want to do anything else in retail, as I am about to the point of not wanting to deal with crazy customers any longer.
