DREAM announces 'Super Hulk Tournament'

In what will likely stand as the most outrageous tournament in mixed martial arts history, DREAM has announced the "Super Hulk Tournament" for DREAM.9 taking place May 26 in Yokohama, Japan.

Where else would you find in the same tournament the eclectic mix of Bob Sapp, Jose Canseco, Gegard Mousasi, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Hong Man Choi?

Those are among the names booked for an eight-man open-weight tournament that will span three events.

Light-heavyweight Ikuhisa “Minowaman” Minowa will continue his quest against opponents twice his size when he faces off against the near 400-pound Bob Sapp.

And for an even stranger matchup, former MLB baseball player Jose Canseco will make his mixed martial arts debut against seven-foot-two Hong-Man Choi.

Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou will take on kickboxer Jan Nortje. Besides the size disadvantage Norte is a perfect matchup for Sokoudjou, whose biggest weakness is on the ground.

Gegard Mousasi, who vacated his DREAM middleweight title, will fight 2001 K-1 World GP champ Mark Hunt.

it should be really funny to watch that fight. i don't think he has the skills to get past the reach of a 7+ foot pretty good kick boxer in choi. fedor beat choi but then again he had the skills to beat pretty much anyone in teh world. don't think that canseco is going to be pulling guard and armbarring anyone

Canseco got his ass knocked out in the 1st round by a 47yr old 190lb ex Wide Receiver.............him moving to MMA deserves NO media hype.

The guy's a complete tool/sellout (he'd sellout his mother if given the chance) just starving for any type of pub he can get........I hope he fails miserably and goes into hiding forever.

I'm sure the money is to tempting for him to back out! The Japanese are probably paying him very well. They know he will draw viewers...Even if most of the viewers are watching to see him get his ass handed to him. If I remember correctly, he was having money troubles not too long ago.

He is a rat, a liar and an arrogant cocky bastard who thinks because he is strong and big and has "martial arts" experience, he can fight. He got beaten badly by a trained amature boxer who was 40lb lighter and half a foot shorter than him. He then fought a draw to an untrained regular guy who was 80lb lighter and a foot shorter. If he accepts this fight it will expose the extent of his ego, his financial toubles, or both. He will also get badly beaten by a trained fighter. Even Bob Sapp would probably knock him out or choke him out fairly quickly.

The most surprising part of all of this is that he is doing this because he's broke. He should have made a ton of money off his first book. I guess it's like Patrick Ewing said, to paraphrase; egotistical, moronic, sell-outs make a lot of money, but then egotistical, moronic, sell-outs spend a lot of money.
