Kinesio tex tape (blue tape)

Anybody familiar with this stuff. Apparently the athletes at the Summer Olympics in China used it alot.

My chiro put this stuff on my neck, shoulders and shoulder blade to stablizer my muscles. I have a cervical hernia and up until now he said my progress was too slow. This tape seems to have stabilized it. I still get some pains but they aren't as intense and don't last as long as they did. I just fear the tape is masking the pain like morphine does to intense pain.

Anybody have experience with this stuff?

The chiro wrote the name of the product on paper for me when I asked him about it.

its used commonly in athletic training, but i thought it was mainly to localize blood flow to the areas taped, i didn't know it was used like reg. athletic tape for support tho, its usually placed on areas where tape wouldnt help much like shoulders, legs, elbows etc..

It seems to have helped me with my hernia but I fear that it is only masking the symptoms. Right now I just have the tape across my neck where you can see it full blast. I still feel tingles here and there but I feel more normal than I have.

Even moving furniture around hasn't irriated it a whole lot whereas before I did a very light workout with shouders and I was hurting the next day.

Probably would be a great thing to use in weightlifting but I don't know how much it costs. It is made of cotton and it is very tough stuff.
