L-arginine,tryptophan,5-htp,melatonin,gaba = get to sleep & possibly help gh release?

L-arginine,tryptophan,5-htp,melatonin,gaba = get to sleep & possibly help gh release?

Trying to get a plan together to kick my habit of taking diphenhydramine sleep aids to get to sleep because i read it kills gh production.I also take ambien and amitriptylene but not sure they would effect gh release?So far i read all those i listed in the title either promote sleep and gh release or one or the other and all should be taken before bed.Im not sure about taking all of them since one may trump the use of the other.For instance when i read about tryptophan and 5htp they seem like close to the same thing and maybe you should just use one or the other?Are some others in that list if combined with the others also?
 
I don't know if I would try all of those at one time. Consider starting with the melatonin, if that isn't enough then add in 5-htp (better than tryptophan) then possibly add in Phenibut (better than GABA - crosses the bbb).
The only concern for me with arginine is the fact that it raises prolactin.
Valerian root is also supposed to be very effective.
L-Theanine has a nice calming effect.

I love 5-HTP.
Watch out using GABA at the same time. It often has b6 added which will convert the 5-HTP to serotonin too quickly and it will never make it past the BBB.

Melatonin, 5-HTP, and Valerian damn near saved my life this summer.
 
Melatonin works great for me ,but I get too many vivid dreams through the night with it.
 
With regards to Phenibut, yes it crosses the the blood brain barrier, however your body develops a tolerance to it rather quickly, resulting in the need to constantly increase the dose to get the same result. You have to cycle off this stuff regularly. 1-2 weeks on, 1-2 weeks off.
 
Sleep Aid

I use Sleep Aid Capsules from **broken link removed**. They contain most of the stuff you listed and they work great!;)
 
Dosages?

Quad-Smack can you inform us on amounts of each to take. I personally tried melatonin at 1-3mg with no results. My Dr. told me to use 9-12 mgs and it works very well.
