Lenny, I've always noticed you have very developed external obliques (or at least that's what it looks like) ... they actually look bigger in the front double bicep pose than the front relaxed. Any idea where those came from?

First of all, thanks Shelby for the comments.

I know exactly what you are talking about, I call them my alien obliques, go figure...the explanation I may have is that several years ago, I used to do a ton of rope oblique/side crunches with a good amount of load...I know stupid me and I think that might have added to the creepy externals or it is just a structure thing:confused:

Needless to say, I do not train abs hardly at all anymore, very few sets without any load/resistance in fear of them getting larger!

Thanks...still some detailing to do on the backside and 5 weeks to fine tune that backside...Alex will get some shots up when the right time comes, so stay tuned. I guess we both have set the bar high and that is how I like it.

Are you doing something different with your midsection in the front double bicep pose than you are in the front relaxed? The obliques look smaller in the front relaxed.. maybe try to mimic that in the front double bicep to make for a better taper. Just a thought.. you're doing awesome, keep it going bud :)

Thanks and I know what you mean, if I stretch up more from my abdominal region the external usually do dissappear and gives me that better taper...I guess I just forgot too do that. Still some practicing to do.

I hear you on that... that's how i fucked up my obliques too...

you seem like you are pushing your abs down and stretching them out while doing the front db... are you doing that unintentionally? cuz in the front relaxed, it looks perfect, they should look smaller during your front db
